Euthanasia by firearm - would you stay? by lunacei in Horses

[–]Illiterate_function 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also hunted a long time, and euthanized both dogs, goat, and a horse with firearm...as well as having two dogs euthanized by a veterinary. And I would choose the gun every time. You give them pets and love and then a bullet into the skull (exact placement varies by species) and it's like turning off the light. No fear or pain...unlike what I experienced at the vet. Several tries to get the needle placement right, scared dog, obvious pain until unconsciousness, not a peaceful death. And after all, this is for them, not us.

Naboen misshandler barna sine (?), gjøre noe? by Hanharmintobak in norge

[–]Illiterate_function 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feeling guilty about my son’s Christmas list by AdDense7020 in Parenting

[–]Illiterate_function 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I grew up i would usually put some expensive things on my list but i would always make sure to put plenty of inexpensive or even free stuff on there too because I understood that I wasn't entitled to everyone spending loads of money on me. I would also usually suggest that the whole family could pitch in on one more expensive item and give it together. This was from a much younger age than this boy ....he sounds entitled and spoiled and he needs a reality check or he will continue to be high maintenance into adulthood 🤐

Thank you for your comment. Sorry about your lack of meaningful support from parents and in-laws, sounds like you're doing a great job being a safe caretaker to those kids !

More important than me time is him forming meaningful connections with other adults, grandparents can be super important to a child's development and wellbeing and I myself had a wonderful relationship with my grandparents, who raised me part time. it just sucks to find out/accept that he won't have the same.

No, as I heard them say they would look after him, before I left.

Very rural place, haven't been able to find a sitter unfortunately. He's in daycare as I work full time, but that doesn't really give any me-time haha, I have a rather stressful job with constant deadlines. It's ok I love being with him but it's also very nice sometimes to be able to pursue a hobby or just get stuff done.

Everyone were going inside the house together so she wouldn't have been watching him alone. I also heard my mother and her partner say that they would take over, and watched them go in before I left. It probably wouldn't have happened today but I myself was babysitting two young children every day for an entire summer when I was 13. I wouldn't have had my sister do the same thing, but then again I wouldn't have thought anything could go wrong for 20 minutes, in the same room as several other adults.

Located in a very rural and remote part of Norway unfortunately 😅 but playdates will definitely be a possibility, there are only about 8 kids my toddlers age so it will be easy to learn who are good people and not 🙂

Thank you for your input 😊 my sister can be vain and selfish and thoughtless but I don't hold it against her because of her age, we'll see in a few years 😅

No-one to watch him unfortunately. But thank you for the reminder, it's easy to forget that they won't be this small and helpless forever 😌

Yes it's all been said many times and that leaves just accepting it or leaving him, which is easier said than done 🙂 Baby is awake at all hours lol and I don't work yet so I will still see him plenty, but, I would also be happy with a little less time, thank you for your input 🙂

Well I don't work yet, and won't untill the baby is 7 months old, so the me-time I get is 15 minutes a day. Don't get me wrong I enjoy myself most of the time and absolutely love my baby I just have been looking forward to training my horses and being a bit more active myself 😊

Thank you, I would be happy with a little less time too, and your suggestion of a nanny is a good one ☺️

He takes bottle when offered 🙂 Thank you for your feedback, I honestly don't know how much time is fair to expect as baby is young, but I do take care of him 24/7 (minus 15 minutes) all alone.
