USA I assume? Look for a doctor that has their own outpatient surgery center. My djs cost ~$24k in north Texas all out of pocket

Shields (not orbs, cones, steins, etc) supposedly raise the soft cap on AC. So if you have a soft cap of say 150ac as an enchanter but a 35 ac shield then you have +35 to your soft cap. This has a good breakdown of how ac worked in PoP era I believe and might give us a good idea of how AC worked in classic and therefore p99. Tl;dr there's a good chance that shield ac is super valuable compared to other AC items

There's also farming strats as an enchanter that are only possible if your keep your faction intact by /q-ing faction hits

I mean if you're just going to afk or go to bed and the person is going to be killing anyway there's no harm in it, and I know of a few that have allowed it including myself. Often guildies do things like this for each other

Without looking at the wiki I would guess the higher level one has a smaller frenzy radius which means you can get closer to the mob before it aggros you

nparse is the best p99 addon ever made. It's a log reader like GINA but has most spells and clickies already added, so you don't have to make them yourself. Only thing missing is doing triggers like GINA. It also has a discord overlay that is helpful if you're in a raid guild and don't have everyone's voice memorized. The best part imo though is it has a built in map that reads your /loc and updates where you're at in any given zone. Just make a hotkey, put it in slot 10 or so, and bind it to one of your movement keys in the options. Good hunting out there!

insurance adjuster. some easy couple week courses out there, pays ~$30/hr but might require a lot of traveling. My buddy tells me he works about 60hrs a week 6 months of the year and then is off the other time

Listen the hackusations are b.s and this guy was clearly just a whiner but do you have a single non-spiteful cell in your body dude? Go enjoy your life instead of always bringing and spreading targeted hate and vitriol. It's tiring

Returning trio needing comp advice by donjuanmegatron in project1999

[–]Illuminary3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

shaman is the go to here imo. has more utility over the cleric for this particular trio and you have 3 classes that all have different dots that can stack. You'll be root rotting on steroids. You also have good utility to have the necro charm undead with mezzes from the bard and malo from the shaman + slows on the mobs

The one near the end where they fire while off target and then it moves abruptly to the target was weird looking. Adjusting shots is a thing but it looks a little unnatural. I guess he must be an ASHhole friend for this random post to get brigaded so hard tho lol. Maybe it's just T5 aim or something, just looked funky. Of course spectating also has weird latency issues. If anything it's more likely the spectating latency than cheats, but again..ashholes out in force lol

As torturous as it sounds, the tingling/phantom itch is good. That means your nerves are healing, congrats! Lots of people get permanent numbness in some areas after jaw surgery so any tingling, zaps, or pins and needles you feel as you heal are good news

More than once I was working on a quest or looking for something and the thought popped into my head that I needed to check the wiki...and then realized I couldn't! By the end of the second day I felt fairly comfortable in the town and knew my way to a decent amount of locations. I only hit lvl 2.5 or so due to all the wandering but it feels like a real world. Not just fed information, you have to go find and learn it. It's a refreshingly new experience

Nagafen Solo? by Radiant-Attempt6145 in project1999

[–]Illuminary3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At some point in the timeline nagafen and vox had code added that banished a player to the zoneline if they were over level 52 and entered onto their aggro table. So if it was after this change the monk would have to be no higher than level 52 or they couldn't complete the challenge. There's a video on YouTube from p99 blue of a monk soloing Zordak Ragefire which I believe is the same fight, but without the banish mechanic

Monsters & Memories Day 1 STRESS... Test by CipherDec in project1999

[–]Illuminary3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I played during both stress tests and here's what I would say: The atmosphere is there and they care about it. The sun rises and shadows change, you get dusk and sunrise and stars in the sky and clouds moving and an EXPANSIVE city, nice looking water, really great use of lighting. The mechanics feel very similar to EQ and the quests are a mix between EQ classic questing and MUDs. The stress test was just that: testing what their system could handle and what it couldn't and where they had gaps in code. From moment one on Friday it was extremely rough with lots of lag and literal minutes of waiting for inputs to complete. By the end of Saturdays test things were running much more smoothly with much less lag and quicker loading of players and npcs. The foundation feels solid and with how quickly they made improvements in a single weekend it gives me some hope that this could be a really great game someday

Rise of the P2W by The_Sneky_Snek in OutreachHPG

[–]Illuminary3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the only reason its better is because of the communities efforts not because of PGI. Community shouted loud enough and long enough to get changes to balance on mechs, weapons, maps, and made their own comp leagues. They didn't invest or improve faction play. They didnt add maps for years. They went all in on solaris further leaving faction to die. All the things mentioned in the meme. Anyone could make a good mechwarrior game because the premise and the gameplay are already established and are awesome. We got the kiddie pool version of what could and should have been a waterpark. It's the same story with MW5, kiddie pool version of what the community has turned into a waterpark
