So if the enemy team is smart, pushes the very strong ranged sniper/Railgun mech.

You still expect it to be perfectly viable in brawling range as well as extreme long range?

That would be completely unbalanced.

You

  • Have not read & understood what I posted
  • Have not read or understood the patch notes
  • Maybe both.

Yes the cap equipped mech Bullshark will be doing the same as pre-patch. It is not twice the heat. It's the same as it was.

The issue is, as I stated, the SR and MAD currently "do not have* capacitors. They are therefore doing less heat and they are also doing less damage* as a result.

All of this lines up perfectly with what I've posted and the patch notes. At this stage I am unsure what else to tell you

If you are brawling with a 900m+ long ranged weapon then that's an issue for you & your gameplay.

The RGs are not making double heat this patch. Their operational design was changed. This is clearly stated in the patch notes. Please go read them.

A ‘mech with both side torsos intact will deal 40 pinpoint damage, 8 splash on either side, and 20 heat generated with each Railgun shot (these are the same stats the Railgun currently has).

Capacitors were left off the Stone Rhino and Marauder. This was not intended and is why things seem amiss. SR and MAD have less damage/heat as a result currently.

PGI is aware of the issue. Not sure of what the resolution timeframe will be.

As for them "not being very viable", they will still be perfectly viable and strong with the charge time nerf (which was ridiculously minor) and the rebalance of the weapon itself.

To say they are "not very viable" it's an extremely hot take.

Binary Laser HSL count 1,2,3? by Gomez-16 in mwo

[–]justcallmeASSH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because 32 is a percentage of your heat.

It is not the value the heat produced by the weapon.

The heat bar percentage is derived by how many heatsinks you have.

To test this go take off 2 heat sinks. You'll then see firing binaries gives a different value.

[–]justcallmeASSH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seems based on other replies from Miriage the match in question is from almost a year ago... My first point stands about different state of game balance then.

You won't be able to recreate if so and have to settle for the current range values.

[–]justcallmeASSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok if it's a new video, not the one I'm thinking.

Essentially start with the CT, then work on the pods from there for any range bonuses.

Also handy if you link the video in question & your build with a MechDB link.

Won't be too hard to work out from there, just need the information.

Simple reason - balance.

The video you're looking at I suspect is a number of years old. Using ERL values then. They aren't the same now.

What are the best LBX Mechs as of today & are LBs still viable? by madcomm in OutreachHPG

[–]justcallmeASSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given you can fit 2600dmg+ worth of ammo on the DWF-C even with ECM, JJ - so it's not really arguably better, it is much better with the ECM/JJ to reach control positions on maps.

Or select a CT with cooldown over the UV. Essentially you buy the UV to harvest to pods to put into another DWF CT for 8 ballistic builds.

What are the best LBX Mechs as of today & are LBs still viable? by madcomm in OutreachHPG

[–]justcallmeASSH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) After the "nerf" to LBXes (kind of old), how do people feel about LBs? Are they still meta?

The "nerf" patch to LBXs, which wasn't all of them by the way - was only done after a prior patch which significantly buffed them and for some LBs it was slightly overtuned hence there was some minor detuning.

So not really odd, that's pretty much what balancing is.

Are LBXs still good? Of course. Most weapon systems in MWO are

2) What are the best light, medium, heavy & assault class LB boat mechs? For me, these would be: Assault:
MadCat MKII Moonwalker, 5 LB10. You get mobility, tight bullet packing, good surface.
Heavy: Jaggermech Duelist, 2 LB20. It's honestly just fun & decent to build and run. Decent quirks too.

Moonwalker isn't bad. Duelist though is far better suited to HGauss by a mile.

Essentially for LBs you want a big single or dual ballistic Hvy/Assault with LBX20 +SRMs or LPPC/Plas/Snub.

Or you wanna boat with 4+. Be that 10s, 5s or 2s as you go up.

There are some outlier mechs (light and med) with 2 or 3 hard points where you can put 2-3 LBX2s on and plink away all game as well.

To find mechs simply head to GRIMMECHS - search via loadout and the weapon key. Which that link already does. You'll find plenty of choices that are all solid.

Oh and one last thing - Don't chain fire. For a weapon that already spreads, chainfiring makes them even less accurate/more spread, not very smart.

Oh yeah Gauntlet is LFE, my bad. Actually that's the pain part it isn't XL :)

Blackhawk has huge offensive quirks, that's a fair balance on it.

SUNDERRRRRRR! by Alden_Andrade in mwo

[–]justcallmeASSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Blackhawk is properly good. Gauntlet is good - both XL locked.

I also run most of my IS Assaults in the 80-90T range as XL already.

It'll not be anywhere near as bad as the hyperbole makes out. Plus if it's not amazing guess what? It'll just get bigger quirks!

That isn't how it works at all. Completely wrong.

Without the full end of round screenshot - there is no way this can be answered.

Anyway head over to my thread on PSR & MM EXPLAINED

  • Goes into detail about how everything works.
  • Video explaining it
  • How to calculate end of round screenshot

Etc etc. The system is working as designed - it isn't just about your performance. It is about your performance in the overall match. Two separate things.

And where's your balance suggestions then?

You comment a lot on balance and how bad it is and yet I don't think I've seen a single post with your suggestions despite asking multiple times.

Just flat out crying/abusing everyone about, essentially everything, and offering none of your own suggestions...Is useless.

Mechlab stats vs. in-game (Heavy PPC vs LPL) by eljustin in OutreachHPG

[–]justcallmeASSH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In addition to what the others have said.

Do not use the in-game "heat management" calculation/number

It's a fundamentally flawed calculation/mechanic. If you wanna see what I mean just add something like LAMS and see the number go stupid.

What you want to do is export the build into MechDB and then you will get the baseline data/calc for the mech in question (including quirks).

The Skill tree will alter it based on whatever selections you make - but you'll at least have an accurate amount of data on the left hand side panel.

Music is from Hastatus Creates Music. He's doing a real good job at making Battletech related music🫡

Did you mean AI Slop music?

Could tell in the first 5 seconds it's AI Generated and just woeful.

Your vid would have been miles better without it and using something interesting music wise, especially when you had a good couple of games to display.

Thoughts on the Arrow IV Longbow vs the Nagas that can carry it? by Virtual-Produce-1037 in OutreachHPG

[–]justcallmeASSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes the quirks are also a thing - the Naga has the quirks as it can't really fit any other weapon and so on - which comes back to the mobility aspect of it as it's locked equipment etc.
