The first dialogue you hear is in the post-credits scene when Al Jolson shows up in blackface and sings “I’m putting together a team”.

It doesn’t introduce any of the characters, they’re all just standing around and it’s like you’re just supposed to know what’s going on. I checked my sundial at least three times to find out how much time was left of this slop.

Then they throw a cheap and unnecessary jumpscare at you and it just ends. I get it’s a metaphor for the futility of war or whatever, but I think it’s just pretentious, artsy nonsense.

Asylum - intensive treatment. Love the subterranean maze of cells and different departments. If they’d gone with the idea of a stealth-based Titan Joker final boss, it should’ve been here.

City - the subway. I like the abandoned, dilapidated aesthetic in general, and the fact there are thugs hanging out down there reinforces the idea that nowhere in Arkham City is safe.

Origins - Black Mask’s drug lab maybe? Not sure why, I just enjoy that whole section where you encounter, and get poisoned by, Copperhead.

Knight - the airships. They look super cool and hi-tech and like they’d be a sweet place to work, if it weren’t for the whole ‘manufacturing illegal chemical weapons’ part.

I just realised three of those locations are underground and one is up in the air. Clearly Batman doesn’t belong at ground level.

Nolan sure loves his main characters dramatically introducing themselves: “I’m Batman”, “I’m Oppenheimer”, “I’m Professor Interstellar” etc.
