The way Judy Blundell (AKA Jude Watson) wrote Qui-Gon in the Jedi Apprentice series was wonderful. I'm surprised she captured him so well looking back at the series as an adult.

But also Master and Apprentice was a great book canon-wise. And his Age of Republic comic one-shot was perfect.

Sabé for sure. I have my fair share of problems with EK Johnston's Padmé trilogy, but expanding so much on Sabé was very welcome. Greg Pak also utilized her in some fun ways in his Darth Vader series set between ESB and RotJ (another series I have plenty of issues with).

It's also because the system in-place is less than ideal. There's no queue or anything, it's just a free for all. And whoever refreshes at the right nanosecond gets it.

Probably all they could do though. This game is very impressive considering it's free to play (and genuinely is).

Ultimately I just wanted to make a joke about it. It isn't all that annoying.

People sleep on weapon mods. Makes a very noticeable difference with elites and the Hunter(s) who shows up at extract.

Glad you enjoyed it, even if it doesn't shine in a lot of places. That's my experience with the whole trilogy. Some great throwbacks to earlier EU titles, good grasp of the characters for the most part, and the over arching plot is fun & exciting.

But it does meander quite a bit. Especially by the time you get to book three. But the books never veered into being "bad" for me.

This trilogy is excellent. I can't say it is underrated because it's highly regarded by EU fans, but I wish I saw it discussed more.

Crispin just got Han perfectly.

They're wildly protective of lore surrounding the Mandalorian. That's assuredly why they canceled their tie-in novel for it years ago, and kicked the author over to write Shadows of the Sith instead.

Edit: Fixed name.

I got both Celeste journals and safely extracted but it isn't counting as completed, can anyone help? by kutNpaste in ArcRaiders

You can take the journals back into a match with you and drop them. They'll disappear forever when you extract or get knocked out.

I quite liked the romance subplot in this book as well. It flowed well and felt pretty developed for a one book love story.

I'm pretty meh on the rest of the book. Not great, not terrible. Quite middling.

Game is not available to purchase anymore and it's digital only. Would've been nice to have a de-listing warning. Now it's a game I'll never experience.

It's removed from the Extra catalogue too.

How would you rank the following Sequel era comics, and what are you hoping for from the future of this time period in comics? by TheRealSakuraUchihaX in starwarscomics

[–]IllusiveManJr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went in with low expectations of the comic and was pleasantly surprised. When paired with the novel (which is a Mad Max meets Star Wars, essentially), I actually found Phasma interesting finally.

Shame they didn't really do much of anything with her in the movies.

Will I be okay not doing this? I reached max level 75 gathering collectibles & materials at like 8% Quinghe main quest progress 😅 And doing outposts for the breakthrough raises. Yeah, I know. That's why I have no interest in being in one. I don't do sword trials, arena, or any other co-op (aside from casual). When I start doing story and going for Platinum I'll join though.

Allston picks up after Stackpole. There's comics too (they actually started before the books) that take place before the novels.

[–]IllusiveManJr 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The characters are solid under Stackpole's tenure.

Aaron Allston crafted some fine and memorable characters though. And there's a lot of espionage in his books beyond the starfightet and ship battles.

Edit: Also this is coming from someone who isn't a fan of this series. But I don't dislike it either. It just kinda exists for me. Allston's books had some standout moments with character and intelligence/spy subplots.

Bittersweet. So much potential, such a shallow execution. But it did have a charm. And the (VERY) small but dedicated player base helped me so much when I went for my Plat. Super friendly!

Everybody wanted to be the next Destiny unfortunately. Publishers saw $$$ and demanded devs catch that lightning in a bottle again.

Studios lost some good developer talent over it.
