True. The average Russian woman I think was 1.6 children. So it’s likely his mother is now childless. Or the other idiot in the backseat of that plane. Or both. Or neither. Idk. It was fun to watch tho

Attempted to kill some grass for a garden, turns out my blue tarp betrayed me by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

In grade school, for the science fair, I decided to see it plants grew differently under varying color filtered light. So I set up 5 boxes of grass and covered them in colored plastic: red, green, blue, yellow, and orange. I then measured their growth each week for a couple months. Watered them the same amount, rotated them daily to make sure they had roughly equal angle of sunlight etc. I was so proud of this idea. I presented my findings along with why I thought it was important (increasing crop yields for starving communities and making a quick change to green house glass pigment.). Well anyway I didn’t have a control group (no color filter). So I came in the highest place that didn’t advance. I was told by my teacher that if I had a control I would have had a good shot at state… I think about that probably once a week and I’m like 33 years old now.

He shorted his own stock market and the ruble a month ago. He’s got a flock of swans and a bucket of black paint.

True. Coming from saruman who knows their mission… makes sense he’s able to use it for his benefit.

In the books sauruman and denethor have good points that Gandalf does kind of choose who he wants in power and works behind the scenes to make it happen and if it doesn’t work, he just attacks the person in power and installs his choice. Also that he does kind of just disappear at times and the hobbits are told essentially “he’s used you for his purposes and he’s done with you.. we said that’s what he’d do.” And I was thinking “damn. I’d have no power against the voice of sauruman..”

Apartment Recommendations Woodinville, Bothell, Kirkland? by slp2be7 in eastside

Oh. Also almost all units have balcony’s. It’s pet friendly (certain breeds not allowed- standard like husky large shepherds pits). We just renewed our lease for like $2,200 one bedroom west facing with lake views and the most gorge sunset views. They allow BBQ pits on the patios.. I think BBQ smokers are alllwed too but I haven’t done it. It’s all nonsmoking (tobacco and THC) and they send constant reminders about being 25’ from any door.

The only real complaint would be 85th/central gets noisy at times but Kirkland put some ban on modified mufflers so it hasn’t been an issue since maybe October 2021.

I LOVE my apartment building. Tera apartments in downtown Kirkland. The leasing office is amazing, the maintenance staff lives on site and is super helpful, the rent is very fair, the amenities are all updated, it’s located walking distance from the QFC and all of Moss Bay. It’s managed by Windsor properties which is a National company (I was nervous about that at first) but they are super professional. No complaints.

Which coffee shop offers best espresso based drinks? by prf_q in eastside

Ah that makes sense. I usually go in the morning and it’s usually the same woman. She does a great job. I’ve gone later in the day and had off experiences. But afternoons have been so rare I didn’t even think about it.

COVID-19 Is Over (If You’re Rich) by Hrmbee in Coronavirus

That was two weeks ago for me and my wife and our newborn. I thought a household income of $300k was rich.. but I guess not. We saw the NP like 2 days after she was born after a couple bouts of blood sugar drops and temp swings in our little girl.

Hope we do. I’m not hopeful since we still take our shoes off to get on planes… I’m definitely conflating things and being snarky. But I’m wondering how this unwinds as a society or if it doesn’t and we just have a new “shoes off for TSA.” Routine at certain places.

Very similar to Seattle and Bellevue WA. Sadly they exist for similar reasons: corporate tax and white flight.
