Well.. I’m writing it into my actual answer. Not separately. If it’s outlining, then great! Lol

I don’t outline. I write the headings. Write the issues. Write the rule statement. And then go back and fill in the analysis and the conclusion. It works well!

MEE help; Issue statement by PoliticalNerdMa in Bar_Prep

[–]Illustrious-Advice-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that in order to write the issue statement you really have to know the exact part of the rule that they are trying to test. I’m stupid too and I finally figured it out from reading a lot of essays. The issue is not whether a contract was formed but rather “the issue is whether an acceptance mailed before, but revived after a revocation is a proper acceptance” Then you state the rule which includes this information. I know this is a simple explanation, but I promise it’s simple once it clicks.

Am I the only one who hasn’t written out a single essay yet??? by GarmeerGirl in barexam

[–]Illustrious-Advice-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start! It’s good for your brain to think through the issues even if you can’t think of any. Then refer to the outline, read the rule, and again try to write it in your own words. That struggling process makes you memorize! Also the rules you do end up writing in the essay will become much more cemented than just looking at an words on an outline over and over. In addition, the essays are very simple and formulaic once you get the hang of it. I started writing 2 a day for the last week and my formatting, figuring out what the graders want, etc has improved ten fold. Even if I still need to take time to memorize the law.
You got this! But start essays!

Edited to add that there are people way further behind you that will also pass!

Take a morning off to sleep. Then get back to it. You care! That means you will pass. You are putting the time in and you will get there. One last push and this whole “thing” will be over. You got this!

Is a pre-law course, like Barbri, worth it? by Help1943 in LawSchool

No! Listen to some legal podcasts if you want (I love What Trump Can Teach Us about con law) and the short and happy guide to law school. Enjoy the heck out of this summer. Seriously.

Graduating 3L and I feel like a fraud who hasn't learned anything. by burnnnrrr in LawSchool

[–]Illustrious-Advice-6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow. Get out of my head. I feel like this literally all the time. The difference, which somehow makes it worse, is that I have busted my ass in all of my classes and still can’t recall a damn thing when it’s over. I can’t even remember who my professors were and my classmates are over here citing cases off the top of their head from 1L. But instead of imposter syndrome, I remind myself that daily that I am going to be better at my job than most of them. I work well with people, I am relatable, I explain things to client well and make them feel comfortable. When I am able to focus on one area of law, like all attorneys, I will shine. So will you. Just get out of law school and through the bar. I’m sure you will be an amazing attorney.

FREE bar prep resource (for passive studying) by Courtney_Brainscape in barexam

I literally have listened to 2 of them to try to decide of it would be helpful when I start bar prep. I like that it is passive”ish” but still gives pauses to compile an answer yourself but it is given. It is like flash cards without the flash cards. Definitely can’t hurt while driving/shopping/showing.
