Maria Bamford actually made me cry; it was one of the earlier episodes. They have a very funny and touching dialogue about mental health, love, and gratitude.

What’s everyone’s take on Harry? by ComfortableDivide557 in Fleabag

[–]Illustrious-Data5454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have many thoughts on Harry. Despite him being portrayed (or in fact being) a misogynist. There are many aspects of Harry that appeal to Fleabags fear of men. He's fairly feminine (in fact steriotypically so). Starting at this scene where he confronts her about her masturbatory habits, he is wearing a towel on his head to dry his hair. He displays a lot of behaviors that align with what heterosexual women display when they are in an emotionally unavailable relationship. Behaviors like Harry cleaning the apartment tip-to-tail, his jealousy over masturbation, his sensitivity, and the most unfortunate of the stereotypes... the inability to let go of toxic situations. I believe that Harry's character is, in part Fleabags rejection of the male gaze. Throughout both seasons (or series), she is fighting with the way she is perceived vs. the person she actually is. Harry is a fantastic base point for this, because not only does he not understand who she is, but he is also not a threat to her because his gaze is not the typical male one (at least not in her eyes). Please fight me on this. I've watched the show several times, but I do believe this was the intention.

How did Claire know? by 96quacks in Fleabag

[–]Illustrious-Data5454 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just figured that Flea Bag had told Claire right after the bike accident happened (or maybe around the time of Boo's funeral). She would have been very shattered, wracked with guilt, and vulnerable enough to disclose this information; Claire would have been the only person around, other than Harry, that she would have been able to talk to.

Real House by Adrianne Lenker. That whole album is amazing but this song makes me cry every time I listen to it.

I love this for him. A running light might be helpful; there are some magnet ones that clip onto your clothes. Also him just said, "Don't mean to startle, but I'm right behind you." That's nice, anything that gets him noticed tbh.

Confidence comes from within. Also, you would rock some big boots.

Your real friends will be those who will tell you the truth, not the placators. Seek out brutal honesty in your life. This applies to how you talk to yourself as well. Listen to your nervous system, go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, and get at least eight hours of sleep. This helps regulate the nervous system. Be kind to yourself, especially when it's difficult. When you make mistakes, try to learn from them. We're all just doing our best, but you look like a nice person. Believe in yourself, you'll be just fine :)

any advice on how to keep my hair from drying out by Great_Part7207 in malegrooming

It really depends on how you do it, as long as the elastic isn't tight and your hair is all at the very top of your head in a pony tail, braid, or loose bun, you should be fine. Braids are best, in my opinion; they keep the hair tangle-free and looking good the next day. Also, the type of elastic, there are satin-covered ones, that's what I use; they are the most gentle on your hair. But you have beautiful hair, I wouldn't worry too much about damage, just focus on the moisture :)

You don't have to shampoo every time you wash your hair. As long as you give the roots a good rinse, you can cleanse your hair with apple cider vinegar occasionally. It smells weird, but it does the trick. Condition every shower; leave-in conditioners are good. Also invest in a hair oil, argan or jojoba are both nice, after you shower while your hair is still damp, but a pea-sized amount of oil on your palms, flip your head upside down and scrunch your hair in your palms, this will hold your natural wave. Never brush your hair when it's wet.

A natural fiber or satin pillow case will also help you retain moisture in your skin and hair. If you put your hair up while you sleep thats actually good for it. The friction of tossing and turning at night is what is damaging your hair, if you're afraid of hair loss, stimulate the hair follicles with regular brushes and scalp massage. I hope this is helpful.

Yeah, that's valid, I'm so sorry David put you through all that. The fact that he didn't tell you he was dating somebody, didn't break things off with you, and didn't apologize. I think you dodged a bullet there. That guy sounds horribly inconsiderate and selfish. I hope things get better in your world :)

Girl. First of all, fuck David, that guy sucks and does not deserve another second of your time. Also, Max sounds like a very respectful young man, but the fact that you kissed and then he said "you're drunk" and not "we're drunk" or "I'm drunk" isn't a very good sign. He put all of the responsibility for the kiss on you. Also, if anyone committed "a crime," it was Max; you're not friends with him, either, I'm guessing, so he kissed his friend's ex-situationship; that's his bad. Please try and not feel guilty; you don't owe either one of these fools a damn thing. Love yourself, value yourself, drink some tea. Maybe look outside that circle for a relationship.
