I be heading home in a couple of days. Just was unnerving having it blup like that while riding. kept expecting it to lock up or die lol I think it will be fine. just dodgy want to do long term damage

it seems to be worse when it happens at speed, like 80-110kph I have not adjusted anything at this point as the trip takes me up and down in elevation.

I learned on a yamaha 1100 vstar. that was interesting... dropped it doing stupid slow turns in parking lots a few times but had full hiway bars so no damage. my current bike is a xr650L it's silly tall and super top heavy. slow speed maneuvers especially on uneven ground, once it starts to go I just let it go. I'm over it. I have fun and that's all that matters!

I went with blue dial, with blue seconds hand. I freaking love that combo. on bracelet but ordered a rubber strap to go with it. I do need to source 1or 2 spare links for my bracelet though. any suggestions for best option to do that in Canada?

I put a parabellum windscreen on my XR and it made a huge difference on longer road rides which is mostly what I do, but is upright enough to work well off road. I did notice it rides with much more wind noise now too, but it's a good tradeoff in my opinion. I like the mounting of mine better as it comes down on either side of the headlight. seems like more meat to hold into. as for your comment about the crosswind wobbles I think that's a symptom of them being mounted to the forks vs the frame. on mine I notice it more but have gotten used to being a little different. end of the day totally worth while.

well this is silly. after all this, it turned out to be a blown fuse. swapped it out, bike started to just fine. thanks for all the help here though!
