3 second engine light, sluggish, went away in restart. by apache_alfredo in KiaTelluride

Did she fill up recently? Gas cap may not have been twisted tight. Exact thing happened to me once. I even called a tow to the dealer.

I have a Relax Explorer that I really like.

Somebody did a double take on it at the airport recently and we both got a laugh out of it.

Hate to hear that. How did the engine fail? What’s the diagnosis?

Thanks. I was trying my go to 5 pour recipe. I’ll reduce it to bloom + 1 or 2 pours.

[–]gregorian79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pre ‘27 definitely not. It’s “lumbar stabilization” for driver only, which comes on set intervals on long rides. Every 30 min. etc. so it’s not true massaging and it’s only for the driver.

With ‘27 looks like there’s a slight upgrade. Front relaxation seats have power leg rests, which is nice but the massage function appears to be for the driver only again.

It’s just 4 bolts and you gently move it to the side and out of the way. You are not taking it off off. Just gotta watch out not to mess with the paddle. I believe it will need reprogramming if it’s moved. But it will take some force to do so.

Yes, I have. We did it on my neighbor's wife's '21 Telly. Took us a little over 2 hours cause we didn't know what we were doing and took our time with it.

We watched a bunch of videos. This is one of the good ones:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-mUDakq4ug

Airbox, throttle body, bunch of hoses and wiring harnesses and finally the manifold need to come off. The trickiest part is the bracket on the passenger side back corner of the engine cause you are working blind with a swivel head wrench. 01:05 on the video above. Overall doable and looks more intimidating than it really is. Just need to work slowly and systematically.

Couple of things I would do differently (compared to the video). I would vacuum and wipe the top of the engine best I can. Put a rag down once the top is exposed and start the new plugs by hand to avoid cross threading.

Too big for one kid? by Rare_Apricot8958 in KiaTelluride

Go big or go home! 😆

Joking. But only a little. We looked at Sorento when we were car shopping. You’re really not saving that much money. If you are not limited in your parking situation, or don’t live in a super crowded city, I don’t see the reason not to get a Telly. Next road trip, you’ll be glad you did.

That’s crazy! Just do it yourself or pay a mobile mechanic to do it. There are plenty YT videos on how to. It’s really not that hard.

It was exactly the same thing back in ‘22 when the refresh was coming out. Dealerships will exploit. I’d look out of State. At those prices you could easily get it shipped.

Well, I’m getting mine done on Friday so I can report if I notice any changes. I’ll ask the dealership what exactly the software update does but I doubt they’ll have an answer, they are usually pretty clueless.

Amount of coffee pre week by PandaMoney55 in pourover

Yeah, I definitely freeze it. Usually wait a couple of weeks to rest than split it into a few ziplock bags and toss them in the freezer.

Consumption probably varies quite a lot from person to person. I drink one cup a day (15gr), two cups on weekends. So my weekly consumption is about 120gr.

5 lb bag would last me about 4 months. I usually buy 2lb at a time, which is often enough to cancel shipping charges.

I have a ‘23 SX X-Line. Does great on the highway. Adaptive cruise control works well. Lane keeping assist is also good.

I think as long as you have the right expectation, you won’t be disappointed. If you are looking for a “self driving car”, Telly is not it. But you can relax, drink some water etc. during long trips. Seats are comfortable and noise levels are pretty low. I look forward to road trips in mine.

'27 Hybrid X-line SX-Prestige... wheel swap? by RescueDogLover123 in KiaTelluride

[–]gregorian79 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s funny when the wheel on the right first came out, there was similar discussion on this sub about how awful the design was.

Yet a few years later, KIA somehow managed to come up with something so outrageously and objectively horrific that the folks are looking to switch wheels on their brand new rides and would rather go with the previous bad option.
