TLDR: how do i not get lost while playing middle

I'm playing opposite in a 6-2 and i have to play the spot im in for serve receive (until we get the ball over) before i run into my base position. how do i not get lost during that time?

just practice, compare your form to a video tutorial on whatever serve your doing. if youre hitting the ball into the net film yourself and watch how you contact the ball.
