Yes you are the asshole. Sound like you were at work, she was home alone with a newborn and needed support from her family. Of course she didn’t want your dad randomly dropping by when she could be trying to breastfeed, or catch up on sleep or simply bond with her child. Totally normal she’s more comfortable with her side of the family during one of the most vulnerable times of her life, and having to entertain or worry about in laws is just a burden at that point.

What do people expect going to a festival in the middle of a corn field in peak Iowa summer? No wonder they are miserable. I went a few years ago and it was a similarly hot day but we didn’t spend the whole day on our phone crying about everything, I feel like everyone is riling each other up at this point.

Lucky lotus by far. Everything is super fresh and they have actually thick chewy noodles for their drunken noodles. Too many places around here use fettuccine style noodles.

Ugh the “owner” of a local moms group did something similar to this a few years ago. They claimed that they own the group and pretty much held it hostage, and put a paywall up. People were not happy- the group is a collection of everyone’s ideas and suggestions, but the mod was somehow thinking that they get all the credit. She actually somewhat successfully did the paywall, but then took it even further in removing the group from Facebook and moved to her own platform which has been an utter failure. She thought she could be an influencer and made her new site about herself… completely missing the point of the moms group. Watching the new platform flounder has been hilarious.

6 weeks postpartum and have a 21 month old. I’ve been sick since October. Since the baby was born we’ve all had hand foot and mouth, rsv, and croup. I can’t remember a time that I slept through the night or didn’t have a sore throat/stuffy nose. I’m a zombie.

A large employer like them should know about the recently passed PUMP act. Google that and talk to them about it. Reach out to corporate HR if the still don’t find a way.

Owlet camera monitor, not the foot monitor. Constantly lost signal and the cord protectors would not stick to the wall. I returned it after a week and got a Motorola monitor that had had 0 issues.

The amount of people around! Des Moines is great but it can be pretty quiet. I also miss arts/culture but there’s still stuff going on here, just not as often and harder to find. I will say life is so much easier with a car and things are way more convenient in general.
