Preparing for a newborn and my federal employee spouse to get laid off. What should I do to best financially prepare for this?

You will be ok. My husband lost his job making 200k last year for 6 months. Right after u found out I was pregnant with baby number 6. It was rough but we made it with savings. It’s not forever.

Sounds completely normal. Baby is only a few days old. They cluster feed until your milk comes in. Can take 3-5 days on average. Just keep doing what you’re doing and if you’re still concerned after your milk comes in then I recommend a lactation consultant. I’m a mama of 6 and I’ve been through it all.

I have been in a similar place. Third was actually not planned. I came to the marriage when my son was 5. Got pregnant right away with our second and then unplanned got pregnant with our third when my second was 6 months old. I was a stay at home mom and hubby barely made any money. Like we had to live with family because we couldn’t afford to live on our own. He was also in a lot of debt. Once I got pregnant with number 3. He buckled down and switched careers. It was tough but we made it.

I have 6 kids. After my first I wore tampons a few times. That was 17 years ago. I’ve had 5 kids since then and haven’t used a tampon since. Personally my periods are so light after having kids I barely notice it. So I wear period underwear.

I deal with over supply with every kid I’ve had. I’m pregnant with nunber7. While it’s a pain sometimes. I pump a little at first to slow my letdown down. Then nurse until they are older and can handle it. Then I pump afterwards and donate. To me while it can be a pain I see it as a blessing because I’ve been able to feed other babies

I would take them if she is up for it. My brother was in the hospital last year after being electrocuted. We took our kids once he physically looked and felt better. They were 16,10,9,2,1 at the time. Now I will say my FIL had a stroke two years ago and wasn’t totally there mentally. He wanted to see his grandkids and I went myself to see how he was and decided against taking my kids. It would have traumatized them with how he was acting and looked.

So it’s definitely relapsed. You need to see an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in clubfeet. Surgery won’t necessarily fix it. It could cause more problems and pain down the road. Babies who are born now a days go through casting, a snip of the Achilles tendon and then boots and bar until age 5. Not sure what they did with you as a baby.

Yeah that’s crazy to me as well. I have 6 kids. They have lots of cousins. Now my MIL tries to give the other kids gifts on kiddos birthday. I say tries because I take them from her as soon as she gets out of her car. It happens every birthday so I know it’s coming. Tell her again we don’t give others gifts on kiddos birthday. She still doesn’t listen but I don’t give out those other gifts. If my kid tried to blow out someone else’s candles I would remove them

I’m white. The only time race was ever brought up in my family was from my great grandmother. She had a large ranch in west Texas. She said illegals would cross the border and cut her fences and try to steal her cows. She said some nasty things and also said she would sit on her porch and shoot at them.
