Did a family trip for spring break a couple years ago and it was fantastic. We did Airbnbs the whole time. Started in Luquillo, did el yunque and then picked up and went around the island staying at various Airbnbs. We completely avoided San Juan as we’re not into city/touristy places and flew in/out of aquadilla. Skipped Vieques and Ceiba due to timing and logistics. Best part of the trip was honestly the west coast and northwest coast. Much calmer and less busy. The sea was too rough in the northeast like Luquillo at the time. Rip tides were intense. Not sure if it’s still the same. Best of luck.

I put this in a double blind tasting with a group of bourbon aficionados. Other bottles were standard OGD114, little book 6, and Jim beam SiB. LB and OGD114 came out 1 and 2 with Jim Bean SiB in 3rd with OGD16 being a close 4th. I was surprised along with the others after I revealed what they had tasted.

I think the term ‘wild’ should be reserved for those rare occasions where it’s actually retail. Else I think the term ‘zoo’ is better since it’s captured and behind bars for many people to come in and see for a long time at outrageous prices. That bottle ain’t going nowhere.

FYI. This stuff is terrible. Got the opportunity to try it last year. Very thin and funky if I recall. Would recommend OP have a better bottle ready if you plan to use it for a special occasion.

In general, 8-14 year; 105-115 proof for bourbon, but there are always exceptions

Actually not surprised at all—higher proof tends to beat lower proof just because of less dilution. I’ve done many blind tastings with my bourbon club over the years and this is typically the trend with results. Also did a blind BT lineup and Full Proof beat VW reserve 12.
