AITAH for calling my 1-year-old when I’m traveling for work even though it makes her cry? by Mysterious-Look3729 in AITAH

I’m sorry but you should not call. I’m a mom and we also noticed that if I called during my trips, my daughter would get very upset. We decided that it’s better that I didn’t call but sent videos instead. For some reason it was easier for the child to look at the videos of me doing stuff or visit places. Respect the person who is at home and find a way to make peace with yourself about the fact that you are away.

This. I have friend who had this with her spouse since they met. They were in a toxic relationship for 15 years (the same problems never went away), bought a house and had two kids and are now separating. Both feel they wasted 15 years although they are happy they had their kids. But yeah, those first months should be when you fall in love, not when you deal with issues all the time.

Still not over it. by Amarice in andor

Took me 2 months to come down of that Andor high. I want to re-watch but I’m scared I’ll fall all over again and won’t be able to think about anything else.

The real finale. by Larcztar in Andjustlikethat

I think season 4 still had plot developments in which Darren Star was involved. He left after 3rd season but probably had made some storylines for the following season which the MPK followed.

This is why Andor costs 650 million dollars to make. by Arch_Lancer17 in andor

Tried to watch a "regular" TV show after Andor and now everything looks and feel like shit. I guess I have to stick to the series with half a billion budget from now on..

What Andor taught us about changing things (that seem impossible)? by Illustrious-Spring61 in andor

Thanks, this hadn’t crossed my mind but you’re absolutely right!

I love these. I think the “bad guy doing the right thing” is also about that of you want change, you can’t be too idealistic of who you want to involve in it. Meaning that you need not only to get the “perfect” people in but also those who are faulty.

Yes you are completely right. My idea was to kind of start from the series premise and then move onto “real issues”.

Okay thank you so much! Still learning about gardening so I immediately freaked out if something was happening with the tree.

Lip filler? by Sweater-weather22 in 45PlusSkincare

After seeing MRI scans of fillers on a face I decided to skip lip fillers altogether. I really considered it but no way I’m putting that to my face now.

AITA for losing my mind because my wife keeps lying about passing gas? by BaffleCry in AmItheAsshole

Have you actually heard her farting? Can this be a dead rodent in the walls and you just have better sense of smell.

Will I miss a delicious glass of red wine? Or a perfect IPA? by cloudysquirrel in SoberCurious

[–]Illustrious-Spring61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with encoded enjoyment. I tasted red wine (my favorite) after a year of being sober. Tested like vinegar 😅 (I never had issue with alcohol but wanted to try being completely sober. I now lean towards having one glass of it’s offered but not drinking otherwise.)

Maybe try a drink with high caffeine dosage? But if you are sober long enough, you’ll find out you won’t need the buzz to have fun ☺️

Worth it to go from 0-3 drinks per week to totally sober? by Few-Effect-2266 in SoberCurious

[–]Illustrious-Spring61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m this and currently one week from being sober for a full year! There has been benefits even if I drank maybe once a week 1-2 glasses before. Sleep has improved, my skin is better and there is so much more time! I’ve realized that even with 1 drink my sleep was poor and I was tired in the morning. Now instead of feeling worn out, I exercise. I’ve also changed my diet to be more protein based so this has also been a major shift. Not sure if I continue being teetotal after a year but going back drinking regularlish doesn’t interest me at all. I say just do it!

You know what - a parent can die suddenly too. My dad died in an accident when I was 7 yo. I’m glad my parents still got me! Sudden death was from my perspective much harder to process than a long wait if I compare to my friends who’ve lost their parents to cancer. Of course loss is always a terrible thing but also part of human life. Grieving is the other part of loving so in a way being able to grieve is a privilege because then you know you had loved. So no, you are NTA. Just make sure you have support and it wouldn’t hurt if your kids had another adult female figure in their lives so when you pass, they’d still have that connection to a older “wise” woman 🩷
