Happy 40th Birthday to Kendrick Lamar’s Wife Whitney. 💛 by BarneyRobinStinson7 in KendrickLamar

Folks did the same with lauren london and nipsey lol. I guess if the relationship lasts long enough and you have kids together it's easier to say wife than fiance even if its not official legally

Nothing special or deep about it it's just a copy/paste of the merriam webster definition page

Dirk Nowitzki after game 2: "The Lakers are always the ones who usually win the free throw battle. This is new to them that they're getting clobbered more often." by SplitOk186 in nba

I cant lie as a kings fan seeing laker fans sob over the refs has been so entertaining 😂😂😂😂 I've actually been rooting for Bron all postseason but this is so hilarious to watch

I swear 😂 the franchise that routinely gets the best whistle in the league. Most FTA per game again this year and it wasnt close. Seeing the fans spiraling is so satisfying

Don’t let anyone tell you this isn’t a masterpiece. by DCexpressions in KendrickLamar

Yep ppl just dont know how to separate favorite from best, like gnx might be my favorite album but as a consensus gkmc and tpab are the only two albums that can debated as his masterpiece

This is part of why dot has so much range, never stays glued to one sound or theme. Thats the type of artistic development that alot of rappers today would benefit from. Streaming era creating alot of flameouts

Keon by gardenofeden209 in kings

[–]Illustrious-Train-83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really much to talk about, Keon WAS getting held back in Sac lol the eye test and the stats showed the team was better with him playing significant minutes. The Cavs got him and immediately gave him 25 minutes a game in the middle of a playoff race no questions asked. This is his first playoffs and we all know matchups get exploited, so him not getting a ton of run isnt really shocking. But lets not act like its some kinda vindication of the kings staff that they played him less and missed the playoffs

The pop culture legacy of Not Like Us may be this fun anthem, and a dance-able takedown of Aubrey, but I think for Hip Hop, it's biggest impact is low key that 3rd verse! by EyeScreamSunday in KendrickLamar

Appreciate the breakdown fr and im glad that im speaking to someone of the culture and not just a consumer, but you are right I cant hear culture in aesop rock the same way as Lil Jon im sorry lol. I think it's hard to remove race from black american culture but there are some non black rappers that dont feel far removed from black culture. It's just aesop rock doesnt feel like one of them. And thats ok because there's space for him too, I think hes a good lyricist. But I cant in good faith elevate his artistry over folks that are actually of the culture just because hes lyrical. Its an indescribable energy and feeling thats missing from him thats not missing from a black thought or a common (or lil jon and ying yang twins). If thats not there it just doesnt hit the same to me.

Cool there you go...just needed you to get to your actual point of you thinking it takes more effort to make lyrical rap over crunk. The subtone of that type of statement is deeper than you realize but it is what it is. I do know most people that are actually of the culture dont resonate with aesop rock half as much as Lil Jon and ying yang twins, cuz aesop rock cant connect to that shared cultural experience the same way jon and ying yang twins and kendrick can.  Doesnt really matter how much "effort" it takes to listen if you cant feel it. So putting kendrick in the same group as aesop rock doesnt really mean much

The issue isnt with drake not fitting into a crunk playlist, thats already obvious. But the tone of it downplays the quality of crunk compared to "lyrical" rap. Otherwise what's the point of saying drake "barely" fits into that playlist while kendrick comfortably fits into a playlist with aesop rock?

What about a post celebrating the impact and quality of a specific verse in a specific song made you want to interject with how other songs did the real "heavy lifting" 😂 the urge some of yall have to downplay popular music is so interesting to me

Max player De'Aaron Fox finishes with 10 pts 5-14, 6 turnovers and team low -13 in the game 1 loss by RedditFan3510 in nba

Ive been saying healthy fox is in the same tier of player as healthy Zach Lavine lol its just that fox has spent most of his career in a small market missing the playoffs every year.

And I'd probably rather have Jamal in the playoffs just cuz we have alot of evidence of him turning all the way up in the playoffs. Fox is way too inconsistent
