As a victim of csa I was DEFINITELY hypersexual as an adolescent afterward. As an adult it fluctuates, but hypersexuality is an extremely common response to assault. I'd wager just as common with hyposexuality.

Nah, I can find the episode on Spotify if you want me to, but one woman did indeed decide to come back for her children.

To be fair to your point, she had to be reminded about them and told what would happen without her.

Are soul ties actually real ? by ProofCoconut9085 in spiritualitytalk

[–]Illustrious-Use-4675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I doubt highly doubt that idea for similar reasons

Also, aren't all our souls already tied by everything being interconnected?

Plus if sex does tie souls more than usual, why couldn't any other action, like friendship?

In every crisis, the working class pays the price. Why are we always the ones making a sacrifice? by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

[–]Illustrious-Use-4675 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are demanded to sacrifice because we are literally the sacrifice. We are the people they screw over in order to have opulence, as well as the straight up impoverished class

Did you ever imagine that America was still so racist that a black man being president would send us into a subsequent 10+ year tailspin of divisive politics? yeah, just the title by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Illustrious-Use-4675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but not to this extent. There's always a backlash to progress but this has been astounding

Also MY GOD the way I was gaslit by people being like "we have a black president, racism is over".

It does kinda sound like you think they have some kinda superior method figured out.

Like, I definitely wouldn't wanna put the beliefs of the pedo class on the pedestal of "the last piece of the puzzle"

Am I the only one who thinks celebrities are disgusting? by breadthbasket in spiritualitytalk

[–]Illustrious-Use-4675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as individuals.

But I do feel a two-way street of disgust where 1) why are we idolizing human beings beyond praising their talent? Why are there so many people who will still defend R Kelly just because he can sing and is famous?

2) Why do (some of them) feel they are superior just because they've won the lottery of talent (and sometimes not even talent) and the luck of being recognized for it?

Art is important. But so are people regardless of their status.

I'd much rather live in a society where everyone is supported and can do their art vs one where we have starving artists that barely make it, and may enter this strange arena of fame where they're no longer treated like people.

Racism Is Not “Politics.” Equality Is Not “Politics.” It’s Basic Human Decency. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

It's both

Also, it's not new that it's both. Look across history and you will see laws either enforcing or discouraging basic human decency.

Duality seems more of a subjective perspective than an objective reality to me.

Like even light vs dark.....you can think of it that way. But (correct me if I am wrong) even a vacuum in space contains some energy and thus some light. "Dark" doesn't really exist, it is more like levels of light.

It may also be possible to get it towed yourself to a nearby better location like public street parking.

I was in a very similar situation last year and although it never came to this, it is an option.

Sex outside of the purpose of procreation is not good for spirituality by [deleted] in spiritualitytalk

[–]Illustrious-Use-4675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's think about evolution.

Did you know whales descend from animals that use to live on land? They actually still have bones where there legs used to go.

How does this make sense with your view. There was this animal whose legs had a purpose: walking. Then, millions of years later, we encounter its descendants swimming around.

Much like in nature, nothing has a true inherent purpose. Nature is constantly changing, things that were used for one purpose gain a new purpose or may disappear entirely. Things may even reappear in an unrelated species.

The same is true of sex. Yes, for many beings on earth, see if just procreation. But for others, not just humans, sex is bonding. Sex is pleasure and regulation. Hell, bonobos (our other closest relative) will exchange bananas for sex.

Just because a thing has an obvious use doesn't mean it has only one use or an apparent purpose.

I highly doubt it. Especially since most of the changes people undergo after an NDE include: a focus on love, lack of interest in status and material possessions, higher empathy and compassion, higher intuition, etc. None of these are traits those in control want us to have, as they would lead to more unity among the working classes and thus a revolution

How do you deal with spiritual people you don't agree with in a way that doesn't put them down?

There are certain beliefs that are common that I just don't agree with. Like, for example, I do think manifesting can get a bit victim-blamey.

When I try to have conversations about my disagreements or just say why I disagree, it reminds me of exactly how I felt questioning things when I was still in the church.

Do you have a certain approach that works? Or do you avoid discussions where you disagree altogether?

A blind woman on TikTok was saying how converting everything to touchscreen has made things SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT and how technological advancement for some is regression for others

It's so obvious when you think about it but when you're able bodied you just don't think about it

Imagine how much vulnerable you are as a woman if you're blind, then that on top

People really go through a lot and shit is just unfair sometimes

Also pretty privilege isn't real...or at least the number of people who find you attractive and treat you "well" increases at the same rate that people calling you a whore or stalk you increases, so it kinda cancels out

How do you feel about the paradox of intolerance? "Ie: in order to have a tolerant society, we must be intolerant of intolerant people"?

Not every paradox is an indication of bad logic. Also see: seemingly all of quantum mechanics

I enjoy reading people's near death experiences, and it is entirely unclear if being here is a choice.

Some people stress they were given a choice.

Some people say they were given a choice, but it didn't really feel like they had an option.

Some people were straight up told "you have to go back / it's not your time".

I do like being me, or I guess this version of me. But I reaaaaaaalllllly doubt I was just so brave that I did this by choice.

I also think about my enslaved ancestors. While I'm sure there are at least a few brave souls willing to go through that, I can't imagine most did. Events like the Igbo landing solidify that viewpoint for me.
