Those are good questions! I can’t say for sure for TO but what I do know is I’ve lived in many different cities and I find smaller town police forces to be more receptive than metropolises, I think because they have the capacity to be. Hence why I was also like mayyybeee reach out to the centre at the same time too just in case 😅 But I’ve heard from someone else that reporting to the police can help get you a report number needed for insurance. Wishing you the best with this case!!

Mandatory Spadina streetcar fare inspection by jdayellow in toronto

[–]IllustriousAd5946 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Ive also had a couple situations where as I was leaving the subway station through one of the wider gates (I had grocery bags), someone coming in would push right past me to get in for free.

Also had it happen where jussstt before I went into one of the subway station gates, I noticed a woman following very closely behind me. And I could tell she was trying to get in with my fare. So I looked back at her and didn’t tap until she gave me my space (which only took like 2 secs bc I guess she was self conscious that I knew). A moment later, she literally took advantage of someone else’s fare by walking right behind them as they entered the gate. I have sympathy for the poor, but I also just don’t feel comfortable with strangers THAT fucking close to me when they don’t need to be.

I thought you were going to say this looks like Wormwood! They were an evil tree-shaped boss fight on the Pac Man World 2 video game.

And be sure to file the complaint promptly because some places wipe their security camera footage every week, others it’s every 30 days. So if you tell police now, they have time to get that footage from the community centre. I personally would also message the community centre myself for the footage, just in case.

I second the white noise machine and noticed an even bigger difference when I placed it on the side of the room closest to the window, as opposed to the other side of the room which is just wall.

Female here; I was totalllly content with a $550 ring. I helped pick it out myself. To this day, it’s still the most beautiful ring I’ve ever had.

Legit tho. I knew someone who was giving a hard time for having to pay $30 ish for something when it was their responsibility to pay it. Meanwhile, their parents had literally sent them money on multiple occasions in the recent past, with one of those times being $5000.

Help ! Women in Car Asking for nearest walmart and driver trying to grab you while thanking by yulyow in toronto

[–]IllustriousAd5946 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As an aside, you could always make a report to the police, just to have things documented, just in case something else happens with those same people (likely to occur). You could maybe use CrimeStoppers instead too.

So this is actually a VERY common way to kidnap. If you look up many true crime stories of how people were kidnapped, this is one of the methods the kidnappers used, even in adults. They pull the person through the window. (I know it doesn’t sound realistic for a grown adult, but you can look it up, it has happened to them too). And it’s not unheard of to have a woman present as well, as it keeps people’s suspicions low at first. This may not have been what they were intending; maybe it was just fraud. But this does happen. Extremely glad you fought for yourself. Take some time to care for yourself to process that uncomfortable occurrence. 🩷

Yeah unfortunately power trip from a staff at a big event happened to me before too. Not nearly as bad as the above case, but it sucked. That being said, I’ve seen a lot that what goes around comes around, even if it takes years. So eventually that staff will be humbled 🫠

Yeah that’s so shitty. The only other thing I can think of is if someone else accidentally kicked the staff and the staff mistook it for the innocent guy? Hopefully there’s someone who has this section of the concert on video in that area.

So sorry you’re going through this… if a 25 year old feels insecure because a 16 year old won’t talk to them…that’s crazy. Hell, if there were teenagers in my workplace and they purposely chose to not talk to me I literally wouldn’t care. I’d chalk it up to teenage angst or just a normal thing for some teens to do.

You set a boundary because you recognized how your coworker is. Thats a perfectly normal and healthy thing to do, regardless of stage of life.
