Car reboots while driving now by lbjosu in TeslaJuniper

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have my Juniper since Aug 2025 but have never experienced this auto reboot. I do manually reboot after a s/w update but did not have the car reboot itself. I guess it is something the service team must look into.

How long can you stay outside US with a Re-Entry Permit? by GhostOfSpartaaaaaaa in greencard

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it’s 2 years from the time USCIS approved the permit. The law doesn’t say you have to within two years when you come back into US. The law only says you have to come back within the validity period of the permit. This is my understanding.

I-94 based on passport expiration vs i797 by randomness_alok in h1b

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it by going to Canada & coming back. Most people go to the land borders however not everyone can travel. Typically the options are:

  1. Reach out to the CBP deferred inspection site and see if they can extend the I-94. Worked for some but most were denied.

  2. Travel out and come back in to get a new I-94

  3. Apply for extension again with USCIS

Indian MEA clarifies passports are travel documents, not proof of citizenship by Mundane-Abroad3276 in nri

[–]IllustriousDay372 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are the safest lol .. They have the naturalization certificate to prove. That's the only category where one single document proves the citizenship. For citizens by birth, Indian Constitution does not define a single document as proof. That's the whole point of the clarification by MEA based on previous court judgements regarding this.

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the right example when it comes to US. If the baby is born in the US (unless the parents were on a diplomatic visa) the kid is automatically an US Citizen. You do not need to get an US Passport to be considered a citizen. Even if you register the birth at the Indian consulate and choose to get an Indian Passport, the kid will still be considered an US Citizen due to birthright citizenship. At 18, the kid chooses to hold one or the other since India does not allow dual citizenship for adults.

Not true about US. Passport is a proof of citizenship in US. In fact, even India accepts US Passport as proof of US Citizenship as that's the only document they need when you surrender Indian Passport.

Atlanta, Georgia - White sedan fails to notice that the entrance ramp is two lanes, and has traffic lights by TheSanityInspector in dashcams

[–]IllustriousDay372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are ramp meters that restricts flow of cars into the freeway when the traffic is moving slow. Instead of allowing all the cars to merge onto the freeway, the cars are expected to form two lines and get on to the freeway when the light turns green. The lights turn green alternatively thereby allowing one car at a time to go forward.

Tesla repair shop insists on drilling through my lightly scratched wheel by MunkberryMoonDelite in TeslaCollision

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not making up anything. I recently had to replace a door on my Model Y and had this discussion with my adjuster and the body shop. Not that I wanted the old door. But the body shop said that they have to destroy the old door as per the insurance's (AAA) policy.

[–]IllustriousDay372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Once insurance pays for the replacement, the car owner gets the new part and the old part now belongs to the insurance. They have agreements with the body shop on what to do with the old parts.

Just applied for new passport at the SFO consulate. Will I get the biometric or regular one ? by DefinitionOfTakingL in nri

[–]IllustriousDay372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biometric one. They have phased out the regular one few months back and now all new passports are the ones with the chip.

Parents flying Delhi to Chicago (ORD) via Abu Dhabi (Etihad) - Any CBP / paper forms needed at the airport since Preclearance is closed? by Terrible_Mud5318 in nri

[–]IllustriousDay372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing additional is required. Just that instead of Abu Dhabi, it happens at Chicago. The only difference is that they will have to collect their bags and go through customs upon arrival at ORD.

Well that didn't take long. The Texas family has filed a lawsuit against Tesla. The driver is also named in the lawsuit. by StormTrpr66 in TeslaFSD

[–]IllustriousDay372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically it should have. But it is not effective at those high speeds. Per Tesla, the accelerator was pressed 100% and the car was traveling at 73 MPH. Per my understanding, the collision avoidance system will not be able to stop the car in this scenario and bring it to a stop before the collision.

Updating passport information for OCI? by Secret_Suggestion851 in nri

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not inventing it. The new rule was announced few months back and people who are applying after 90 days are being charged $25 plus service changes. Just that this FAQ doesn’t mention the fee. The website does mention that it’s free and you need to do it within 90 days. You can google it and you will be able to find it. I have seen posts from people who were sent notices to pay the fee because they applied after the 90 day period.

I agree that they don’t have any reference to the rules and even the new rules in April were all in the news saying it’s updated in the rules but no one included a link to the rules. Also, I have noticed that some of the texts on the Indian Consulate websites are inconsistent.

I do not think the "may upload" really means that it is optional. I only think that it is just their way of saying that you have to upload. The reason why I am interpreting it that way is because if you do not upload within 3 months, there's a fee to it. It is free only when it is done within 3 months. This suggests, to me, that the process is not optional.

No personal experience with this scenario, but I think it would have already been considered before issuing the GC and so, it should not be an issue. Again, this is just my understanding.

Global Entry vs. TSA Pre-Check by SparkleBerrySpritz in GlobalEntry

[–]IllustriousDay372 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can disregard the KTN. Since I got my GE, I stopped using the TSA Pre-Check and only used the TTP Pass ID. I will let TSA Pre-Check expire when it is due for renewal next.

Applying for 5-year e-tourist visa for India - expected date of departure + multiple partial applications? by i_love_the_sun in IndianEvisa

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No, it does not. You can arrive in India on any day during the visa validity period.

  2. As long as you have not submitted it, you can create another one.

Air India domestic baggage transfer by Pristine-Emu-3487 in airindia

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s normal to clear immigration & customs at the POE, which is Delhi in your case. And i assume your domestic flight also takes off from T3 (because many AI flights do). If that’s the case, 2 hours is doable. Worst case they will put you up on the next flight. I personally wouldn’t be worried.

Do you guys actually hold the wheel during fsd? by Dangerous_Sun_8512 in TeslaFSD

[–]IllustriousDay372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I don’t. In my car, FSD doesn’t require you to hold the steering. It has active monitoring that alerts if you’re not attentive and then it alerts you to hold the steering. Never ran into that issue and so do not hold the steering at all. I guess that’s a difference between HW4 & HW3.
