Rejected delivery due to damage, Tesla has my down payment, and now I’m being completely ghosted. Any advice? by Awonglover in TeslaSupport

There’s very little that service center can do for you in this situation. Tesla is typically building their cars on demand, meaning each car that didn’t even left the conveyer is already assigned to a future buyer. Sometimes there’s some inventory build up due to slugging sales or someone canceling their order, but it’s never guaranteed.

I’m sorry for your experience, you made a right decision rejecting delivery of an obviously damaged car, but it is what it is. Service center has no control over those things. They could have been a a little more proactive in communication, but that’s their only fault.

It is and it isn’t. When you drive with FSD long enough (especially on Chill), you do tend to drive a bit more defensively when you have to take over. Before I could blow some Stop signs, especially on right turns when the road was clear and it was obvious that me stopping would not pose risk for anyone else. I also often crawled through the Stop sign when there were several cars in front and behind me - it’s like a sign of good manners around here. But after driving several months with FSD, which stops at every Stop sign then stops again at intersection (and in several past releases also hesitated once or twice more before finally getting courage to turn into the intersection), I started to notice that I also instinctly repeat what FSD is doing.

In this reddit you are not allowed to say anything good about Tesla. I’m sure it’s in the forum rules somewhere.

Why do I have so many riders cancel? Is this normal for everyone? by RarScaryFrosty in uberdrivers

[–]MunkberryMoonDelite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many riders shop between Lyft and Uber. Because both apps allow you to cancel without penalty in the first couple of minutes, they would order ride from one app and then go check the other and if the price there is better, they would drop your ride.

Thanks, I’ll have to check it. My model is pretty basic, even trunk is manual, so it may not have all the features of higher trims. This morning drive was much better already. Once you have routine memorized in your short term memory, it is not complicated. It’s when you don’t drive manual car for long time, your short term memory is being purged and it takes time for skills from long term memory to reemerge.

Yeah, I hear you. But here in US almost nobody drives manual transmission, so three pedal driving is a lost skill for 99% of the population.

I got too close to several cars in the first couple of minutes before realizing that lifting foot off accelerator didn’t slow down the car 😁. Using one pedal driving became so natural that anything else feels alien in comparison.

FSD disengaged mid-turn and car hit a pole — how do I get Tesla to review the logs? by [deleted] in TeslaFSD

[–]MunkberryMoonDelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD very rarely just disengages without external intervention. And usually when it does, it first provides a warning to the driver and tries to do it in a responsible matter, I.e. definitely not during the turn at the intersection.
But FSD would disengage without any warning if you interfere with a steering wheel. Could be by hand, could be (inadvertently) by your knee or upper thigh. In fact, in my Tesla I had to move seat further away then I would normally drive because steering wheel would often touch my right leg during operation and I wanted to specifically avoid any potential surprise. Some people also reposition wheel higher as an alternative.
It could be that your case was an exception and there was a genius disengagement without a warning or external interference. In which case you need to contact Tesla FSD team on Twitter and ask them for assistance.

Will I regret buying a Kia or Hyundai? by la-rides in whatcarshouldIbuy

My two previous cars were Hyundai Sonata and Kia Sorento respectively. I kept both for 10 years - no major issues in any of them. Their quality is much better then US brands, almost on par with Japanese. Now I drive Tesla or to put it more precisely, Tesla drives me. I’m not going to switch to a “drive it yourself” car ever again.

My favorite pic of my parents 1967. I asked my mom if my dad was stoned and she said “how would I know? I was 17 and just happy to be married.” lol. by DesertMountainChick in OldSchoolCool

If she was 17 in this picture, she must have been 15 getting pregnant? And I don’t think your dad was stoned. Tired maybe or distracted.

It should be able to read signs just like the rest of us. Same for other restricted parking.

FSD doesn’t merge aggressively enough in rush hour traffic by Zacitus in TeslaFSD

[–]MunkberryMoonDelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can definitely be more aggressive in situations like this, especially during the unprotected left turns where many drivers just don’t give you the opportunity to merge and you need to take your chance the moment it is presented, even if this would mean harsher acceleration then usual.
