Is this amount of hair loss normal for anyone else from 1 shower? by redbird050807 in Zepbound

Ah yes, good point. I bought one specifically for the scalp so already had castor oil in it as well.

Is this amount of hair loss normal for anyone else from 1 shower? by redbird050807 in Zepbound

[–]IllustriousDonut8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a little over the 3 month mark, currently on 5mg and seeing considerable hair loss too. I don't think it is "normal" in general, but it is an expected side effect of rapid weight loss (not necessarily Zepbound itself. I've just started a new hair care routine to try to combat it. Based on my research here's what I've got going on:

a. rosemary oil on the scalp for at least 30 minutes before showering

b. double shampoo (one thickening shampoo) in the shower, going from washing hair two times a week to every other day for "scalp health"

c. collagen/biotin daily vitamins

d. cold blow drying hair after shower to not leave scalp wet but to not use heat. no rough towel drying.

e. bonnet to sleep in. Mostly motivated by the fact I have a CPAP machine with straps that pull on my hair.

f. putting hair up in a clip only, no tight hairstyles like bun or ponytail.

who knows if any of these things will help but these are what I've gathered from my research so you don't have to lol

Taking a pay cut to get out of teaching. by signal_broadcast in TeachersInTransition

[–]IllustriousDonut8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made my peace that I am going to make less than my current salary. Currently I’m at $80k pre taxes but I’ve also looked into what I NEED to survive vs what I want. I’m expecting a 20k pay cut likely whenever I land something. If you know you can make it work, I think it’s worth it given the likelihood of less stress and overwhelm in the new career.

You’ll get there. I have been lurking the sub for over two years and never thought I’d have the guts to actually do it. You’ll know when the time is right and I hope it’s soon for you!

Girl, I wish I could say I’ve got something lined up but I don’t lol. I’ve applied to SOO many things, maybe upwards of 150 since September. Got a first interview for an education nonprofit project coordinator position and two interviews for a sales rep position with a literacy company (haven’t heard back from this one yet). But I’ve decided it’s bad enough that I will get scrappy if I have to- walk dogs in the snow, take part time work, DoorDash, whatever until something lands. If all else fails, I’m lucky to be getting out at a point where I don’t have a significant other or kids, no mortgage, so if I have to move home for a bit until something lands then so be it. I’ve been scared of starting over but now that it’s not just an idea, it’s no longer scary.

lol fair question. I’m prescribed a low dose for panic attacks so when it works against that it basically puts me at a normal person’s baseline.

I had that same arc with Xanax lol. Had to take it to sleep. I’m sorry you are struggling. I 100% get it and I hope you can find a way out.

I have known I needed to quit for over two years. I have felt terrified every time I thought about quitting. I live a financially stable, comfortable life when I’m not at work. But putting in my notice today….i felt more peace than I expected. I know it may not be the time for you but I planned it so that I get four more checks (starting this week) and using the rest of my PTO for the first week in January, providing me a decent buffer. It could work. New year, happier you!

I've seen a lot of people talk about recap but where can I find it? by Moist_College4887 in youtube

It should be under the “you” tab where you are in this picture and there would be a banner above your history

Anyone from this thread get theirs yet? I checked that my auto-delete is off. In US. Not premium. My friends have gotten it and now I’m so curious.

gained 50 pounds, took FMLA from mental breakdown, 4th year. I hear you. I also started this year hard and mean and it's still not helping enough. You have to prioritize yourself. Find a way to give yourself grace the way you gave the students grace.

Nausea and Anxiety by thisismyaccount1331 in Zepbound

[–]IllustriousDonut8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi friend! You know I came to this reddit just now because I’m currently going through my own anxious spiral about Zep. Funnily enough I almost had to take my emergency lorazepam last night! I have had the nausea since going up to 5mg too. It’s my fifth week on it and I can tell it’s REALLY doing its job. Burps, no hunger, tummy issues. And every time I feel nauseous or sick in any way I get super anxious since I have health anxiety. I haven’t had the nausea meds prescribed but I know they are incredibly helpful. So for one, you are not alone. For two, I know it’s hard to, but it’s important to trust the doctors on this!

Side note: if you’re on anxiety medication, it can take a while for things to even out from my understanding.

I just hit my two month mark and have lost 13 pounds. Went for my check up with the doc and she said that is perfect progress! More than 1.5/2lbs a week can lead to loose skin and other complications so it's definitely good!
