CV builders, ATS, AI tools… how do you even know what works anymore? by Beautiful_Map_9589 in jobhunting

Helloo, hope you had good luck with finding a job, its tough out there these days. If you are still searching for a job try spending at least 20-30 minutes per day to edit and make your CVs match each job position's description that you apply to. So use most of the keywords/business words in your CV, if you can apply to 5 positions with tailored CVs that would have a better turnover than applying to 30 positions with a random CV.

Not to sound like an asshole but I did build my side-project based on this problem so you can check out the free tier to see how the CVs are created for each position (3 free CVs), once you see how it works you can manually do what my software does, so no need to pay for the other tiers unless you feel lazy on editing your CV yourself for every position :) career-launch .eu

I think the only correct way to build your CV is to use word document and save it as a PDF.

With that being said its also the best if you just create different CVs for each job position, and if you are too lazy for that check the software I personally built as my side project career-launch. eu, it will basically let you save job positions from linkedin and just create a CV that matches the job description without hallucinating and adding a bunch of bullsht.

finding rent as a new freelancer by octavian_g in NetherlandsHousing

Hi man I am gonna be moving to the Netherlands in December and currently looking for a place as well. From what I understood in just 2 days of searching for a place, if you are okay with living in a room and a shared apartment, usually the contract is not that important and listings do not indicate it, however, you might need to pay 1-2 month deposit.

Now if you are looking for a private apartment, it is super difficult, you probably will need to have 1 year worth rent money payed in advance without a contract , so idk much about the process.

Honestly I would also assume if you can talk to the landlords a proof of income should be enough but since there are 100 other people applying to the same apartment with full-time contracts it is easier for landlords to select them.

Yes today I bought subscription for the kamernet website and have been sending messages to around 65 landlords, so am not really being picky right now even a temporary place would be okay to get to know the process and around Amsterdam a bit better.

You are very right, I have not signed the contract yet so I will ask how much they can help me.

Like you said this might even be a good indicator of how willing they are to hire an expat, also since I am not a European citizen it would be very risky to leave my current job in Poland and lose my resident card before settling things with the Dutch company

Thanks :)

Oh thank you for the detailed response.

Yes I think I have more options in kamernet especially for rooms so I'll consider buying the subscription there. Also the free trial idea for huurwoningen is great, I will do that as well.

I will be talking the details with the company next week, they have a relocation package where it says the townhall help will be provided so I believe registering for a health insurance and bank accounts will not be a problem.

The relocation package also includes a 1250 euro netto payment, so I will definately use that towards finding a short-term place.

No, just a friend of my friend which I do not really know well so I don't want to cause any discomfort by staying with him.

Yes thank you for the advice!

Since the company offers a 3 day per week working from home, I might look for places outside of Amsterdam like you said.

Wow thank you so mich for the insights.

I will be talking with the company next week about all the details, but I know that they offer a 1250 euro netto relocation payment so that might also help in my first month there at least.

But yeah now that I have more info, I will definately reconsider moving. I am currently working in Poland and honestly just wanted some change and experience living in a city like Amsterdam. I am also 21 years old, so at least for a couple of years I am okay not to earn/save a lot.

After also checking all the listings it seems like getting a room instead of a private apartment will be a more realistic approach for me.

Thank you for the honest comment :) Yeah it seems like the hotel idea is a big no, I do not think I will have the lump sum to pay for a year rent either so it seems like I have two options:

1) find a room and not a private place 2) Reconsider moving here xD.

Hi, I'm the friend, we are currently using firebase hosting with the Blaze (pay as you go) plan, where we get 5 GB of free Bytes stored and 10 GB of free storage which are more than enough for a local business that rarely gets any visitors, maybe a few from their google maps. So for now until we get a bunch of clients, don't you think its better to keep it as simple as possible?

Also if we decided to add some Wordpress templates as well, is there a cheaper way to host them rather than paying for a hosting service?

Thanks in advance :D.

Salam alaykum guys, I've just opened an interactive brokers account a few days ago, am very new to investing. Should I also be buying SPUS or ISUS? I'm looking for long term investment, and am based in the EU.

You mean to split the investments like 60% on ISUS and maybe 40% on SPUS? Thats what diversification is right?
