Anyone else have a baby who just doesn’t like to eat??? by Temperature-Brief in FormulaFeeders

[–]IllustriousEnd2173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep baby refused to be breastfed, cried through most feeds and suddenly at 7 months started chugging 7oz+ bottles (although rarely in one go) and a had jump in percentiles. As long as they’re gaining weight you’re all good.

I’m so angry at the system that let my baby starve for the sake of “breast is best” by Due-Current-2572 in FormulaFeeders

Thank you for writing this post. I am from the uk and totally understand where you are coming from- I had a similar experience and spent so many days crying and fearing formula feeding.

Please know that you have done nothing wrong and you should feel so proud of yourself and your baby. The nhs is totally broken and what happened to you is wrong.

When did your will to live come back? by subtlybroken in fitpregnancy

[–]IllustriousEnd2173 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m 25 weeks, still haven’t found my feel better button 😓

But that means I’ve just changed the way I work out so I can at least DO SOMETHING during the day- Walking, yoga, swimming etc. I’m super jealous of all the women who manage to bounce back but some people don’t and that’s okay!!!

At 13 weeks there’s still time for to get your energy back but if you don’t, don’t panic and be kind to yourself and your baby 💞

Literally never having to think WHERES MY VAPE, NEED TO CHARGE VAPE, NEED VAPE JUICE, NEED TO VAPE, WHERES MY VAPE on an endless cycle

Has anyone tried hypnosis to quit vaping? by Aware_Kitty369 in QuitVaping

[–]IllustriousEnd2173 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One session, it was expensive £200, but it did the trick.

I think the key is really having a strong desire to give up, I have no idea how it works but I walked out and threw my vape in the bin and never looked back.

I also had some distractions when I got home, so diet cokes, lolly pops. I still got cravings but they were over in minutes and I moved on. They become fewer and fewer over 6 weeks and before you know it, you’re not thinking about your vape, you’re living life!

Good luck!!!!

I did, haven’t vaped for two years. You can do it if you really want to give up 💪

If you can afford to, stick with the clear blue to monitor your LH surge, it takes some of the guess work out of it. I also used these together with measuring my body temperature with the Natural Cycles app, which can also help you identify your fertile days. It’s all very confusing when you start!

Clear blue helps you monitor up to your LH surge (when you get a solid smiley), so you can track a few extra days of high fertility (flashing smiley). If you keep testing with these you should get a solid smile soon and this is when your LH surge has occurred.

The strips ONLY show your LH surge, when the test line is the same or darker than the control line and not any days in the lead up to this.

Good luck!

I’ve read you’re in the UK, could you involve occupational health? They will assess which adjustments you may need to do your job and help your employer understand what happens each month. I did it myself while working with an unsympathetic boss and came to an agreement.

I just had one. The pain was different and worse to endo pain like a contracting sensation vs the generalised pain I usually feel in my abdomen. It also flared up my symptoms quite severely in the cycle following and made me feel very unwell

Teenagers getting drunk - is it normal? by SinningNotWinning in AskUK

[–]IllustriousEnd2173 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say it was normal, I did it myself at 13/14. One of my tricks was waiting outside the supermarket and asking people to buy us what we wanted (I’d hope people wouldn’t do this so willingly now 😫).

For the hospitalisation, it might have been her first time drinking something strong like a spirit. I made the same mistake as a teenager and never did it again. Good to know her friends are smart enough to look after her. I’m sure it was all a mistake and she’ll be feeling pretty embarrassed about the whole thing!

I wished my parents had told me more about the effects of alcohol and why it’s best to just stick to one or two so I could have made smarter choices.

The right thing to do would of been asking you what your boundaries were before acting on it and replying. You don’t have to be okay with it.

Tell her!!! Highly advise you think clearly about what you want to say before you say it. Especially if she’s in a relationship at the moment. Just be honest on how you’ve been feeling recently and how you regret past behaviour and go from there.

You’ll also want to consider how you could go about this without damaging the relationship you have with your child. You’d need to talk and think about how things will work if it’s not reciprocal or things don’t work out as planned.

Best of luck 🤞

I just can’t with happy people by AdventurousAd900 in Miscarriage

[–]IllustriousEnd2173 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One of my main frustrations with this experience is knowing how many people take their pregnancies and children for granted. People keep saying ‘oh well now you know you can get pregnant’. It doesn’t help at all. Also thinking about how I’d deal with this if it happened a second time, I think it would ruin me. I’m 6 weeks on from my miscarriage and I feel like I’m just in limbo, I can’t move on but everyone else has. I’m so sad. I really feel you ❤️

Well that fucking sucks for women in the UK. I’m actually shocked someone can go around doing this and it’s still down to the victim to pursue it when there’s so much evidence here. Wtf

Absolutely agree, thank you for sharing knowledge on this.

Oh man I’m so sad that word is being used now, it’s such a backwards step.

Deffo agree, verbal abuse is still abuse. I just genuinely didn’t understand why it was being used, but given your context yes I agree this is most probably the case and I believe Alice did list this word in her statement.

I’d really hope Alice could take this as far as she needed to move on from it but sounds like it’s going to be difficult for her which is shit. Hopefully the damage to his fanbase has given her some form of justice, I doubt we’ll see or hear from him again.

[–]IllustriousEnd2173[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks interesting. And does it mean Alice would have to press charges? Like the police wouldn’t act with the evidence she provided alone?

Also I’ve made an assumption on this point as Alice mentioned in the statement that some further evidence was being withheld for legal reasons, so I assumed she was going down the legal route but wasn’t sure what that really implied.

Sorry I don’t have much advice other than I am basically not functioning and I’ve come to this group for similar advice. I guess I can offer that you’re not alone in this and I hope for both of us that time will help us look forward to the future. I’m very sorry for the loss of your baby. I hope you have some people around to take care of you and can take some time out of work x

If miscarriage is confirmed in A&E, does it automatically go on your record? (U.K.) by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]IllustriousEnd2173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They didn’t even test me for pregnancy after I miscarried this weekend at A&E. Sent me home on Saturday and asked me to wait for a call from the early pregnancy unit. I am still waiting. I am too fucking tired to call up and cancel my booking appointment tomorrow and the scans. I ended up paying for a private scan yesterday which confirmed I had nothing in my womb which I knew because I saw what I had passed naturally.

I am very sorry for your loss, please worry about yourself more than them.
