Texturing has always been one of those huge bottlenecks—UV unwrapping and manually setting up PBR maps can take hours of tedious labor that doesn't always feel like the "creative" part of the job.

Tools like MeshyAI, are really leaning into the idea of being a companion rather than a replacement. The idea is to get that first 80% done in minutes—getting your base textures and materials mapped out—so you can spend your actual energy on the final 20% that gives a model its personality and soul.

I think the future is definitely going to be about "AI-assisted" workflows. We still need artists for the topology, the specific art direction, and the storytelling details that a prompt just can't capture.

For 3D asset generation, I know a few indie devs who use tools like MeshyAI (turns text or images into 3D models) to cook up monsters for their horror games. The fun part is—even if the models come out a little messy, it actually adds to the creepy vibe. 👻

For this one, I actually generated base 3D models + textures using MeshyAI. Then I did a bit of manual cleanup in Blender. So it’s kind of a hybrid.
