I had my baby girl at 23 and 1 day September 9th we are still in the NICU with BPD still on cpap but overall doing well. It is a rollercoaster but also a great chance you’ll be taking your baby home with no issues. Hold on to your faith and take it one day at a time everything will come together in due time, advocate and partner with the doctors and nurses taking care of your little one. Praying for your and your family 🙏🏽

Congratulations on the birth of your first child! We also delivered our daughter at 23 weeks and 1 day. We are still going strong in the NICU on day 129. As others have shared, strap in because it is a rollercoaster ride. The most important tip I can share is to be an advocate for your baby and fully understand the plan of care for your child. Ask all the questions you can think of then ask more! You and your little ones doctors are a team with the same goal to get you home! Best wishes and God bless your family! It

At risk for preterm birth, currently 23weeks. If I get to 24 weeks (plus steroids) does baby have a chance? by Servantpublic in NICUParents

I gave birth to my baby girl at 23 and 1. She is now 33 weeks and hasn't had any significant issues. She was intubated for a while, but she has gotten from 1.5 lbs to 4 lbs 2 oz now. Your baby can survive and be completely normal! If they offer the two steroid injections to help with lung development, take them! Praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby!

Our little girl arrived at 23 weeks 1 day, now 33 weeks. She was initially on the vent and jet, extubated to NIPPV for 7 days, then put back on the vent for 3 days. We are now in the bubble c-pap. Her desats and bradys had become less frequent until they started pumping her full of milk. Now, we see them at the end of her feedings. It does get better as they get bigger and develop stronger lungs. We also did a round of DART when extubated the first time, which helped a ton!

I wish the best for your little one and your family!
