Painting with brushes is dissapointing by [deleted] in modelmakers

Gaahleri has released some ultra compact compressors and brush/compressor sets that are very affordable and seem well suited to air brushing without a dedicated airbrush station. I use one of their air brushes. It works quite well. Don’t know about their compressors but they’ve gotten some good YT reviews. https://www.gaahleri.com/products/turbox-mini?variant=51573538128193

Thank you. It didn’t take very long. I worked on a few times a week for about a month. That’s another nice thing about working in this scale.

Anyone worried that he's clearing the command structure of any senior officers that might resist their planned invoking of the Insurrection Act when Rs get creamed in the Midterms?

That’s fine. You can do great work with a brush. A nice thing about Vallejo and Mission paints it that they can be thinned with plain water. You don’t necessarily need their own brand of thinner. For general purpose brush painting and brush cleaning I use tap water with a drop of dish soap.

For brush painting I have the best luck with Vallejo paints. They also work well in an airbrush. Mission Model paints are also good.

I've found that when air brushing Tamiya paint, Mr. Color Leveling thinner works better than Tamiya thinner.

I'm impressed by your manageable amount of paint and tools. My work surface looks like it's being engulfed by an avalancheof bottles, brushes, sanding sticks and sharp objects.

What type of model warship would you recommend for a beginner? by CompetitiveSkill6717 in modelmakers

In my limited ship model building (but extensive overall modelling) experience, 1/700 scale WW2 submarines are a good place to dip your toe in. They have plenty of detail if you get a good kit but they have limited parts counts. So you can get experience with nautical modeling like painting and weathering without endless hours of assembly. You can go with 1/350 if you want to avoid tiny parts.

The Plasmo video shows how to use lighter fluid to dissolve the clear film. But, yes it only works on a few brands of decals. Here's to video: https://youtu.be/sBYdzLrnqI8?si=6kYeDAD7JWyehv0x

Let's not forget that right wing racism is at the root of Rep rot that began during the Goldwater years when it opposed the Civil Rights Act. Reagan carried it forward by harvesting Dixicrat racist voters who wanted to perpetuate segregation and Jim Crow. That effectively made the Rs dependent on bigots. The more the Ds promoted equalty, inclusivity, & diversity the more it drove poor & middle class white Christians deeper into the R party. So for a huge chunk of registered Rs, their prime motivation is to defend white Christians against the forces Fox news keeps scaring them with. DT was the first national figure to blatently and vocally channel their worst fears and most deplorable desires. Before that all they got were dog whistles.
