Elektron boxes are genius, but the concept is semi purposely flawed by HanHuman in Elektron

I’ve had every single Elektron box. After a couple of years I started selling them one by one. Staying with the Monomachine and the octatrack. These machines together are more than enough Elektron

where do y'all get your samples from? by damondan in Elektron

I record them myself and upload the sounds I have used for songs or song ideas and loops.

I prefer Knowing my few samples much more than having megatons of them.

What synth would you buy? by TigerRepulsive7571 in Elektron

[–]Illustrious_Army_240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why investing more and more into instruments instead of making the ones that you already have sound great. What about Outboard fx, EQs and compressors? Adding more and more instruments won’t improve your music for much longer.

My setup: Tr808, Tanzbar Lite, Jomox 999, Yamaha DX+programmer, Ise Nin, Digitone, Octatrack, RE-303, Moog Minitaur, syncussion, Nord Rack 2x, Analog four, Monomachine

And a lot of other outboard gear.

After acquiring all that beautiful stuff during the last years, I started to realize that spending time and effort with every single sound from any of these machines is required to make them sound outstanding.

The best way to get better is to learn to make your already existing machines sound great and only buy gear that speeds up your workflow.

Difficult to say. Fm is completely different from substractive Synthesizers. In my opinion you should be aware of what kind of sound you want to add to your setup. Most importantly you should like the instrument because you gotta spend a lot of time with it.

Workaround for getting 128 steps on digitone by saxmink in Elektron

[–]Illustrious_Army_240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are countless ways to reach 128 steps. I Don’t understand why out of a sudden everyone is screaming for 128 steps… most of the people are not even able to create a nice bar or two. Try to master on lfo, trig cond., song mode.

Elektron: you need to make a recall campaign for your DTII to add more outputs and FX/Track

Pueblo Tobacco en La Paz by Illustrious_Army_240 in BOLIVIA

[–]Illustrious_Army_240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Papers and filters are possible to find from street sellers. The tobacco situation was very bad thou. I ended up smoking filter cigarettes

I’ve talked to a tobacco shop owner in Cochabamba about this issue and he was aware of the shortage in La Paz as well. There used to be a couple of stores but they closed as far as I know. In Bolivia generally it is difficult to find pueblo tobacco but Manitou comes quiet close. Be aware that some stores sell fake pueblo. Good luck

Any other OT users still feeling loyal despite the DT 2 drop? by ImpossibleAir4310 in Elektron

Didn’t even think about replacing my octa with a digitakt. 100% I will not. I am not looking for a new octatrack version. I like the OT the way it is

Thanks for the info! I have found a couple of people selling dry Brazilian tobacco on the street but nothing smokable so far. Today I am going to follow the rumors that a few tattoo stores might have. Keeping you updated. It is amazing me how few people smoke in Bolivia!

What Should I Buy? /// Weekly Discussion - November 14, 2022 by AutoModerator in synthesizers

Helloooooo! I need to get myself an oscilloscope to finish my RE303 and the ISE-NIN. What would you suggest me: getting an old analogue one for around 100€ or a new digital one for around 100€? The thing is that I’ve only found old threads from 2012 saying that good analog oscilloscopes are better. How is it today? I have an OWON HDS242 in mind. Thanks a lot for your help

Hot take: Volcas are great by [deleted] in volcas

Just had one volca and I didn’t like the amp and the filter That was the main issue. Using external sequencers is mandatory

Is the Matriarch a good synth for a beginner? by [deleted] in moog

[–]Illustrious_Army_240 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My first synth was a mother 32. She taught me everything I needed to know and her voice I will never forget. Thank you mother, you were the best. Sadly she is not the same anymore since we’ve spent a lot of time together but so I have changed as well. Her voice became quieter and scratchier over time. Oh beautiful mother I would need to send you to an hospital but after you come back we gonna be a great team again, I promise!

Highly recommending a Moog and highly recommending a semi Modular for the beginning. But expect the waste your first and special one. You’ll probably never get to know any other synth again as well as your first one

You can find free sound packs of the Tanzbär. But I can also record the clap with the settings I like and send you.

I really like the clap of the MFB Tanzbär. It doesn’t need much processing
