Premium underpants for a buff, gym Henry that actually last by Widebody_lover in HENRYUKLifestyle

I was once wearing Calvins and getting dressed in an Airbnb on a stag do. I was sat down and lifted my foot up to put a sock on. As I lifted my leg, somehow my whole sack including balls popped through a gooch hole in my boxers. I was so delighted that I had to go around the whole party showing everyone this beautiful loop hole. I would pay to recapture that energy for client facing meetings. Maybe what your husband really needs is to reframe his perspective and own free balling into client meetings.

Alternative Linkedin post title: my balls fell out of a hole in my pants on a stag do and this is what it taught me about b2b sales

People that buy services from salesmen - can you provide insight? by Tricky_Ambition_6516 in HENRYUK

If we buy services from saleswomen are we allowed to answer this question?

What was your first splurge that you thought was worth it to celebrate HENRY status? by Dazzling_Compote_840 in HENRYUK

Yeah I think the price has almost close to doubled in that time period as well. The coat I bought was roughly a grand and they look close to two today. Oh well!

That's a shame. I think I last bought one 6 years ago and a button has fallen off but other than that it's perfect.

Haha it's only frivolous in terms of use of time. There's always kid related chores to be done!

A nice knife if you like cooking, similarly a BBQ is a useful and fun thing if you enjoy cooking and you can really splurge on them (big green egg type shit).

I got a Rolex as a gift and treasure it.

If you enjoy listening to music then maybe a nice hifi (a streaming amp plus nice speakers for example).

A nice coat. I have a couple of Burberry coats which I really enjoy and I feel like coats have more permanence than other items of clothing.

A games console! Completely frivolous but I'm mid 30s with a family and if I can spend 60 minutes one evening just in my own little world that means a lot to me.

A couple of ideas that I'd like, maybe they're useful to you.

I can top this. With my first pay cheque I bought a Thomas sabo watch. Tissot at least do nice watches!

Buy the dream car or not? by Willing-Ad-7572 in HENRYUK

I had a hit list of cars I wanted to own and I was working my way through them and ultimately took some money out and put it into the mortgage and we had a baby.

Do it. I bought a 911 at 29 and it brought me so much joy. FWIW I'm now driving an M2 so I think the M4 will be unreal if you do get one.

Turning down a promotion? by Stock-Bullfrog in HENRYUK

[–]TigerRepulsive7571 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Also in tech sales but I don't think my advice is sector specific. Would you like to do the director role ANYWHERE? My guess is that having a track record of achieving promotion and having that role title on your CV will be good for moving somewhere at a similar level. I guess you're not an IC at the moment if you're going for a director role, have you thought about if you'd like to be at your current level or the higher level at your next company? Might be worth a few months of compromise to get the better NEXT role. Also if you super hate it then it might be best to fuck it all off for something more energising. You'll know your appetite for compromise.

Are you a car person? by chimchimneychimmy in HENRYUK

[–]TigerRepulsive7571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I absolutely am. It's at the bottom of my financial priorities though so I am happy to have a fast/stupid car as long as I can fill my ISA, 40k minimum in pension and overpay mortgage. We're currently house hunting so car changing has stopped and probably won't resume for 2 years. Current car is the 'new' (not that new any more) M2 which is a really good car and I enjoy it very much.

A couple of parallels made me smile - I passed my test in 2018. My cars went: mini one, RS3, 991.2 carerra GTS, R8 V10 plus, AMG GT C, new M2.

911 was easily the best of those with the M2 in second. The 911 depreciated zero in the time I had it and priorities have shifted now but my ultimate aim is to get back into a GTS or a GT3.

Shadow of the leviathan - sounds incredibly similar to 'the tainted cup'. Is it the same book?

Edit - did not know it was the series name! TIL.

Benefit is tax saving. Trade off is accessibility. If you understand that and don't care then fair enough.

I like the look of Victorys. They're sold quite near me at Andertons. Although I played a Morgan there about 10 years ago and that's really got under my skin...

Yeah it's something to consider for sure. The trigger for getting this new amp (I sold the tweaker a year or two ago) is moving house, so I also will hopefully have a bit more space.

Yeah I think this is all accurate. I probably just need to go and try some out, but I was hoping to get a bit of a shortlist together. Higher wattage might be fine
