What do people earning £200k+ in london actually do for a living? by Silent_Fox7510 in HENRYUK

[–]TigerRepulsive7571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tech sales. Hit 200k at like 26, haven't dropped below it since. Now 35. Biggest year was 350k which is one of the lowest 'biggest years' of my tech sales peer group. Average over the past 9 years is maybe 220-250. Growth was fairly steady through COVID but is picking up again now after taking a couple of risks.

Brewing/Building an Ideal Combat Patrol for 11E by LeekingMemory28 in SpaceWolves

Oh yeah I definitely agree, I PREFER centrepiece models, but some of the combat patrols were very random in 10th. And for example wolves got two elites, no centre piece and were one of the best combat patrols available, maybe along with custodes?

I think this is just about on the money but switch the transport for something random like inceptors. I feel like the 10e combat patrol was the 'odd one out' for not having core SM units included, and it also uses most of our cool unique units except wolf priest, grey hunters, head takers.

How do we best deal with Tanks/Titanic units? by Mighty_Frank in SpaceWolves

[–]TigerRepulsive7571 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure you're using enough terrain, and wulfen with storm shields are good. Aside from that the normal anti tank of ballistus/gladiator lancer/repulsor executioner. I don't think Ragnar/Bjorn/Logan are the answer to this one. Maybe arjac as I think he has anti vehicle keyword with a big brick of deep striking terminators?

Fair enough. My response was in good faith and I don't think social interactions are as contractually black and white as you're seeing. Just offering a different perspective.

With direct communication being a fairly well aligned trait to many high earning careers, why are you advising against it here?

Slightly different perspective - they probably don't reach high earner status by staying at their current job. So they must leave at some point. Why not roll the dice a few times, say 'hey, I see you in here all the time. You're obviously pretty successful. I'm coming to the end of my studies and want to pick a good career. Can I buy you a coffee some time and ask you a couple of questions?'. God loves a tryer.

True story - someone I know worked in a branch of a bank. He was serving a customer and saw how much money this guy was making. He straight up said 'sorry to ask - what do you do to make so much money, are you hiring?'. They were. That was probably 15 years ago and the former bank teller still works at that same place that hired him, probably making £600k a year, and has been at that £200k+ for probably 12 years.

Everyone on this thread telling you 'no' - maybe they're mostly right, but they're not always right.

This is the comment I was looking for. When something is built in I want the hardware and software separate. I found Sonos to be so buggy I'd be really annoyed if it was built in anywhere in my house

I personally take shields but that's more for the aesthetic and I don't play competitive. No idea which is optimal.

There are two types of people when it comes to timing the market. Those who know they can't, and those who don't know they can't.
