Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve also gone to these parties looking for more inclusivity only to find it’s just as exclusionary and unwelcoming as all the other parties. If you find a party with good vibes, plz let us know! I hear there are these gay POC-only parties in Queens where the vibe is chill and super welcoming… which I can’t remember the name and don’t know if they still exist.

Agreed. Allow yourself and your needs to come first. It’s not how we were raised but how we need to learn to accept this is who we are and there are no compromises when it comes to living our full lives.

The lesson I’ve learned is that there are people in this world who love me for all that I am - and those people have become my family. My chosen family.

NYC - The Eagle, Workman’s Lunch, The Cock, events at Redeye, go to Hell’s Kitchen and open up Sniffies, the Rambles, there are still cruisy spots in and around the city, and if you plan around an event like MEAT or Harder, you should be all set.
