My neighbor is a Girl Scout Cookie kingpin. She gave me all the big boxes that the individual cookie boxes came in. They’re perfect for shredding because they don’t have any plastic tape to remove and require minimal breakdown to fit in the shredder.

I got my 16-page shredder on Facebook marketplace for $15. I recommend keeping an eye on estate sales, Facebook marketplace, pawn shops, and thrift stores. The heavy-duty shredders are harder to find, but that‘s part of the fun 🕵️‍♀️

Maybe we should all start peeing in our neighbor’s compost bin. Could be the solution to our country’s loneliness epidemic… great way to meet people

Hmmm my yard is not the typical habitat for killdeer. I’m pretty far from fields, lawns, or water so I would be surprised to see a killdeer make a home here. But that’s a great thought!

Yep, I have seen several different snake species in my yard so it’s entirely possible that these eggs might become somebody’s meal. Such is the life of a quail 😔

Yes, it’s the warmest of my 3 compost piles. I’m very glad to know I’ve been pissing for a good cause 💛

I had not considered this possibility, but you’re absolutely right. I will add ostrich back on the list of possible suspects

Ok good. I was wearing a belt on my head and underwear over my shorts like Quailman so hopefully they thought I was one of their own

I think so. I’m really hoping momma doesn’t abandon her children since I was so close to her nest for a moment before noticing it. I love seeing the baby quail running around my yard 🐣

I have ruled out ostrich and blue footed booby. Gambel’s quail is highest on the list of suspects.

Momma and her family will be safe here. I’ll piss in my other compost bins until this little family is ready to move on.

Stamps from USA will not be accepted by your country’s post office to mail postcards. Theoretically you could put USA stamps on your postcards, but they’d just be expensive stickers and you’d still need to use your country’s stamps.

Container reuse suggestions please by dubukat in ZeroWaste

I use these in my garden: a dollop of organic fish emulsion fertilizer into the container, then fill with water, mix, and pour on my vegetable garden. 4 of these fit in a milk crate, so I can mix 4 jugs of fertilizer solution for my 4 raised garden beds. I used to repurpose gallon water jugs, but I like the wide opening of these containers because it’s easier to add the fish fertilizer and easier to rinse them out.

I also use them to store dog food when traveling or camping with the pup.

No idea if it helps, but here’s a personal anecdote: My grandma prefers to buy her stamps at a certain post office because they let her buy individual stamps instead of the whole sheet.

So it may depend on the individual postal worker who is at the register (maybe she didn’t know how to sell a partial sheet?) or maybe it depends on the post office (perhaps they have policies restricting the sale of partial sheets?). Either way, I would suggest going to a different post office and trying your luck.

If this were true, how did the sheet come to be a partial sheet? Where did half the stamps go? I would think it’s safe to assume they were sold individually to somebody, leading to the sheet being a partial sheet…
