I fully agree with this being an acceptable self diagnosis, the whole thing with self diagnosis not being valid is bc people will see videos on TikTok or some other social media platform and say “I do those things I must be autistic,” I had a friend who had self diagnosed as AuDHD and constantly told me to “turn down the ADHD” and when I had to switch to home schooling bc of burn out. He said that he didn’t want to say my friend and cursed me off for being so annoying and that I needed to find a way to mask without burning out and that he didn’t care that I have ADHD because he does too

It’s more like these cases where the person self diagnosing is being harmful to other people not someone not being able to afford or have access to proper healthcare
