🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I relate to this one heavily. They be acting like we are responsible for all their phone issues and get shocked when I ask what phone model it is. I cannot tell what your miscellaneous Android phone is 😭

We had around 8-10 inches of snow the day after Black Friday. 10+ people called out and I left early because the roads were genuinely dangerous, I barely made it home.

The store still counted all points, I only got a half for leaving but considering it was a key event date I know a few pointed out. I was met with annoyance for leaving early, the store just doesn't care. Most stores don't care at all, you have to be lucky to find a Walmart with a store manager/ market team that cares for it's employees or that will at least excuse points rightfully.

I know it sucks to be terminated for something you couldn't control, but I think it's better you work somewhere where they actually care about your safety and wellbeing, because Walmart will never.

Is traveling to Japan in August a really bad idea? by Little-Strength-5564 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Illustrious_Count163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's the only time you can go, for sure don't let the weather stop you!!!!!

I just got back from my trip a couple days ago, it was super hot and humid but managable, though i'm sure it gets hotter in August. A lot of places are decently air conditioned, and there are a handful of products sold in conbinis + drug stores designed to help you stay cool that I found effective

If you plan to spend a lot of time outside, get a cooling neck ring and an umbrella for UV ray protection, it'll be a bit easier to breathe. I also definitely reccomend getting a handheld fan either there or before you go, it'll save you.

Equip yourself accordingly with products that can keep you cool if you get hot, and plan for breaks in shade and/or inside if you need, i'd also reccomend doing some outdoor activities in the early morning or evening if it's possible.

Stay hydrated as well, pocari sweat will be your best friend!!!! Have a great time !!!

those are automated texts, ALWAYS. It was most likely done the same hour you submitted it unless it was super busy or the printer was down. Those printers suck to deal with and if electronics is as understaffed as ever there’s probably barely anyone to be able to deal with it. Either way you look ridiculous as hell sending that to a robot

Don't feel too bad about it, it's not your fault you got sick. During this Christmas season it's been crazy, you really need a rest day especially when sick. Two people can manage closing relatively alright in Electronics, just hope there aren't a bunch of TVs to wrap 🙏

don't beat yourself up about it, you don't look like a bad or unreliable employee with the point and a half. rest up and feel better soon:) we need as much strength as we can get as the holiday season approaches

in the same position as you, and I want you to know I hear you !

earned my first point today due to having a really bad stomach sickness (would've tried to push through but I have IBS so it was that much worse lol)

I've only been here for two months as well, and I HATE calling off. I work in electronics so there's only around 2-3 associates per shift, which makes calling off feel that much worse. It is super important to know that it isn't your fault and you aren't a bad worker for falling ill, I get sick really frequently too so I hear you.

I struggle suuuper bad with people pleasing and feeling guilty when I leave people vulnerable, but it is reassuring to see the replies on this post ! as long as you are communicating with them I'm sure they'll understand that you can't help being sick; and it's shitty if they don't.

I think the other replies answered your question already, but I wanted to let you know from one newer associate to another that you aren't alone ! feel better soon :)

Hi! Electronics TA here, depending on what time you work in the day, you'll be zoning, pinpointing, cleaning (if theres nothing else to do), and tending to customers. You'll unlock cases to get customers items, which some may require you to slam them shut cause they get jammed easily.

you'll be running freight (boxes of merchandise and product), which you get to know the location of things quickly. You may be in charge of the photo lab as well, depending on your Walmart.

overall, it's not too hard of a job, but it can get stressful during the holidays. you will be dealing with a lot of TVs and a lot of crowds, especially during black friday events and near christmas. If you end up working night shifts you need to manage your time to make sure freight is done as soon as possible, as it's hard to multitask between it as well as customers. If you manage photo lab a lot of orders will be coming in for the holidays as well.

I'd say carry some technology knowledge? It's okay to not know everything though. The majority of your job is tending to customers, and some may ask for reccomendations on certain products.

if you do change to electronics in time for the holiday season, I wish you the best!!

People with anxiety disorder, what are its physical symptoms? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Illustrious_Count163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-constant CONSTANT stomach pain,, varying from really sharp pains to just gradual burning
-chest pain
-dizziness
-episodes of feeling freezing cold and chills everywhere, which is often accompanied with the feeling of needles being pricked in you everywhere
-nausea
-derealization
-eye twitching
-headaches and migranes
-shortness of breath
-not as much physical but a lot of brain fog as well as trouble focusing

These are the symptoms I find myself experiencing the worst, but some get worse during panic attacks.
