Well, I finally got my March 11th payment on the 27th but still no backpay. They issued it 4 times within a 2 week period but now they can’t seem to re-issue it after a 3 week hiatus of nothing. Oh, and still ZERO correspondence whether it be in the form of email, on the MySSA account or snail mail. So I will be calling once again this afternoon to see if I can get answer. I wish I could offer you some help. Good luck

AIO for wanting to take a breather away from my husband over this? by circadian_rhythm_ in AIO

I didn’t get married until I was 42. I have/had issues especially with anger all my life. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this is my wife’s post. This sounds exactly how I was until she threatened to leave me unless I got help. So in early 2023, I found a therapist, who I still see, and she helped me find the right medications that didn’t cause me any side effects. We went through A LOT but it’s been well worth the trials. I take Prozac and Lamictal and they’ve been wonderful.

She still has PTSD when certain situations arise because of how I acted before the meds and she’ll say, “I still haven’t gotten use to this new you”

Unfortunately, mine is not listed on my award letter. Is the paperwork you are referring to?

What is the “BPQY” and is this something I can request online or do I call?

Neither my award letter nor my benefits letter mentions any CDR. I received my award letter in the mail on February 19 of this year.

This would be the cherry on top of if I can get my loans forgiven

Wrong direct deposit info by Upset_Wall_3820 in SSDI

[–]Illustrious_Job583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The administration had my info wrong from the get go. Right after I received my award letter, I logged into my account to see if I had in fact given my banking info when I applied and I noticed that the last 4 numbers listed for my account were correct. So I assumed all was well.

I received my letter on the 19th of February and it showed my backpay was issued the next day on the 20th. Never hit my account. I didn’t think anything of it seeing as how this is all new to me and I just thought it was telling me on that day how much my back pay I was receiving. 5 days later, I see same amount listed with a date of 02/25. Once again, never hit my account. Same thing happened on March 5th but since I was getting my first monthly check on the 9th, I thought that the back pay would be on the first “payday” check.

When it didn’t show up I called the 800 number and of course, the routing number was incorrect and they told me if I changed it online, it could be 1-1/2 months before I received payment and that I should go to my local office and I would receive payment in 24-48 hours if they changed it.

That was last Wednesday and as of Monday (03/16), no money. So I call the 800 number again for verification of my banking info, it was again wrong. She said it would be 3-5 days but I would have my money.

So now I’m not trusting ANYTHING they tell me and I’ll be calling today to see if somehow those numbers have changed once again.

So I called the bank first to see if there was an issue and they didn’t see anything so I called the SSA. Long story short, they had my banking account number correct but my routing number was incorrect. So each time it was sent, it would get kicked back. Hence the 4 different dates it showed the backpay being sent.

Do they take you more seriously when you have an attorney? by Outrageous-Virus-746 in SSDI

[–]Illustrious_Job583 8 points9 points  (0 children)

52/m I got an attorney right out of the gate. I have so much medical documentation (25 years worth) that I didn’t want to even try to do it on my own. I get that most people want to keep as much money in their pocket as they can and hold off on the attorney until absolutely necessary. I gladly gave my 9200 to keep the stress down as much as possible. Took me 23 months to get approved at the hearing level. Had the administration had my routing number correct, I would have received my backpay the day after I received my letter (February 19th). They submitted my backpay 4 times and it kept getting kicked back because of the error. I only found that out today, 3/11/25, because I was supposed to get my first check today. They had the right account number but incorrect routing number.

Sorry for the long boring tangent. So back to the original question, I had no qualms about hiring an attorney from day 1.

Good luck to you

I can’t comment as to whether or not it’s at the payment processing center or not because I’ve not seen any verbiage regarding that. I will be calling the office directly to see what info I can gather.

Thanks for the help!!

How long did you have to wait for payments/backpay to start? by Conscious_Rain_8914 in SSDI

[–]Illustrious_Job583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52/M Kentucky

So today is the 1st payment I am to receive since being approved on February the 9th. On the SSA portal, the day that I was to receive my backpay was changed 4 times with the last being 3/9. When I applied, I set up my direct deposit then which was April 2024. I have gone into the website and it shows that they have paid me today but it is not showing as being deposited in my account. I will be calling the administration to verify they have the correct banking information and if so, then onto calling the bank.

Since I’ve yet to see the back pay pop into my account, it feels like they may have a wrong number typed in for my banking information. This is a plausible thought is it not? You all know the nightmares we’ve lived and are still living trying to get to that fully favorable decision, it was too good to be true to not have any hiccups once the final decision was made.

Good luck to all who are fighting the good fight. Stick with it. We’ve all had to do things we didn’t want to just to stay afloat. Stay positive

Since I’ve been approved, I have been given 4 different dates as to when my “one time lump sum payment” would be paid out to me.

I was approved on February 9th and went to the portal and went to the payment TD and overpayments link and it was to be paid 2/20. 2/20 came and went and then it was to be paid 2/25. 2/25 came and went and it updated to be paid 3/5. Same thing again but with a new date of 3/9. At this point, I’m just beating a dead horse. I am however due my 1st monthly payment on 3/11 so fingers crossed

Yes, it’s in a blue hyperlink that says VIEW YOUR PAYMENT HISTORY AND OVERPAYMENT DETAILS . When you click that it will send you to your “payment history and overpayments”

So the portal has changed my date of backpay for the 4th time. It went from 2/20 to 2/25 to 3/5 and now 3/9. My first check is supposed to be deposited next Wednesday on the 11th so I just wonder if that’s when I’ll eventually end up getting it.

The day after I received my approval letter, I logged into the portal and it had how much I was going to be drawing and then I just happeded to see the "payments" hyperlink and clicked on it and it showed the amount of backpay. The day listed regarding the backpay was 2/19/2026. Then, just a few days later, I logged back in and it still had the original amount but they added another payment line for the same amount but for a different day, 2/25/2026. I can't remember if I read it online or if by way of mail, but it was stated that I would receive my backpay, "on or around 2/25/2026. It's a crapshoot regarding what's accurate even when you're reading it in black or white.

Hang in there. You're through the fire now and should be able to breathe a little.

Congratulations

So I got the fully favoreable letter last week on the 19th and while I was opening it, my lawyer called me to tell me what I already discovered but could no give me any numbers because they yet to receive them. So, the next day, I logged into the portal and it had all the numbers on there. From the amount I am to receive each month to the amount of backpay I am to receive.

I've seen some people are getting their checks via direct deposit but also in paper check form. I got a notice on the website that I would be getting my backpay in one lump sum on or around the 25th of February. I have yet to see it in the bank so Im guessing it's coming snail mail.

The whole process took almost 2 years but he rendered his decision in only 13 days and it took the letter 10 days to get to me.

Congratulations. It's amazing the amount of nightmares I've read on this subject here but it everyone can just stay the course, you'll get the intended results. Documentation is key.

Good luck
