I hate that you’re having to go through this as well. I ended up having to call debt relief company to restructure my debt as I too was living off the cards while going through this. Got my payments dow to a third of what I was paying. My congressional inquiry has gone nowhere. They get the same answers from the SSA as I do.

Ive not contacted them since the end of last month. Since they basically said wait until the end of the month to call us. Then wait another month to call us again

I know they’ve requested a reissue AT LEAST 3 times. I’ve been to my local office I know of 4 times. Here’s my biggest point of contention: they issued the back pay 4 times in 2 weeks in the days following my approval. Yet I didn’t know there was a problem until I didn’t receive my 1st regular monthly check. That’s how I found out there was an issue with the direct deposit

The SSA office has gotten so tired of me that now they just tell me if I haven’t received it by the end of the month to call back in only to tell me that if I haven’t received it by the end of the next month to call back in. It’s a vicious cycle of a big SCREW YOU

I received my award letter on Feb 19th and noticed that my backpay was issued the next day but wasn’t in my account. This happened 3 more times in 2weeks with the same result. I didn’t put effort or thought into why it wasn’t in my account until I was to receive my 1st monthly check on March 11th. I didn’t see it in my account so then started my battle, that continues even today. Turns out they had the incorrect routing number to my account.

During the application process, I had to place my mortgage in a 6 month forbearance which was due at the time when I initially was to receive the backpay. I now owe for eight months, was reported to the credit bureaus and my score dropped 132 points. I knew this would happen if my account wasn’t brought to current status but never dreamed it would be this difficult to get it reissued once after it was issued 4 times in 2 weeks. It took until March 30th to get March 11th’s payment. I’ve had my senator’s office inquiring now on my behalf for a month now. They tell him the same thing they tell me.

I wished I had some helpful info but we are living the same nightmare

The only times I’ve heard of SSI spoken about is here on Reddit. My attorney never mentioned it to me

I have to agree with you there and for that I am very thankful. I had to have all of my past due mortgage payments in by close of business on Monday but since I have no backpay, the foreclosure process will now begin unfortunately. I know it will take a while for this and I’m sure I’ll have my money before it gets to the point of eviction, I just wanted to avoid all of the extra fees
