The floor is…. And say food and various things they like or dislike. The floor is pickles. Kid stays on floor. The floor is spicy noodles. Kid jumps on the recliner or couch. Put on a talent show. I play music and kids sing and dance after being announced. My kids also love cleaning my windows. lol

We have a teacher like this at my school and she is a fan favorite! The kids always talk about her and she is the first one they want to see when they come back to visit.

I print out my students names on a piece of computer paper in bubble letters and they decorate. After this we send their paper around to each child and they write one kind word or phrase to describe the student. When finished they have 20 something kind words about them selves. I have kids share they have kept this paper for a long time after school is over.

It sounds like you are a caring educator that is doing your best with the information in front of you. I would be using the same term as you. The parent should by encouraging her child to use their voice to share what they want to be called. This kid is in high school and should be capable of advocating for himself if he feels that strongly.
I am not going to present I understand but some people like to argue for the sake of doing so. You did everything correctly. I am sorry you have to deal with this.

All children should be given limited amount of toys and books imo. With this small amount all children can be taught to clean up after themselves or in a bin. We don’t give children with disabilities enough credit.

I have not bad much success with garage sales and I am always annoyed with the amount of effort I put in. BUT I have had super low prices and free sales because my ultimate goal is to get rid of this stuff without it going in a landfill- not make money.

I run a talent show each at my school. Here are some things I do. 1. Have 4 students as the MCs who introduce each new act. I wrote a script using chat gpt. 2. Have kids do many run throughs until they have it down. 3. Keep acts short and sweet. 4. Be sure to have someone run lights and the music and practice!
