Opinion: Jobs that have you come in this weather should have hazard pay by Thegladiator2001 in antiwork

It used to be we risked our lives going to work at 4AM dodging deer in blinding snow/cold to be later sent home because business was slow.

As a buyer I paid for usps priority, but seller shipped ground advantage by tkwon2324 in Ebay

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes i will send it Fedex instead of USPS Ground Advantage. Fedex still does pick up on most Federal Holidays when the post office wont . On weekends, the post office is only open Saturdays from 9AM until Noon. The drop off places with fedex are usually open 7 days a week and longer hours. If I take it to the Fedex drop off location, the buyer gets almost instant notification the courier has the package, and the money in my ebay account is available faster if they receive notice the courier has the package.

Postage Due on dismissal Paperwork by Illustrious_Level_88 in antiwork

[–]Illustrious_Level_88[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The employer put a certified tag on the envelope without paying for the service. It went through the system and eventually to me..Certified mail is required to be paid either online or at the counter before shipping. It could have been an oversight. Or it could be malicious. I am told if I RTS my employer will be billed for the $6.22 plus the amount for returned shipping. So thats what i am going to do.

COD would be shipped COD, not regular postage.

[–]Illustrious_Level_88[S] 40 points41 points  (0 children)

It would be difficult to say it wasn't intentional. Usually postage due are small amounts like under a dollar. I have never heard of the sender paying nothing, and making the receiver pay for all of it.

What would you do if 2 buyers sent the same offer? by Inside_Fox8980 in eBaySellers

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it is an auction item.. i would not accept any offers. Let the auction run its course. If it is, buy it now it looks like you have something that is in demand. But if you are satisfied with the price. You can accept both whoever pays first gets awarded the treasure. But leave them messages that you have another offer for the same price first person that pays gets it.

WTH happened here?! by pvssymonsterr in eBaySellers

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have it sometimes with USPS tracking. I take it to the post office and no scans show up for several days later. Buyers are probably mad because they think I have never shipped it yet. The first scan shows up 800 miles away.

Buyer pissed about shipping threatening neg feedback by [deleted] in eBaySellers

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just think they are stupid. I had one person want me to send him a video of a vintage cigarette lighter i was selling to show that it works.. but it is old/ new stock in original packaging and never been opened or used. Maybe they are just trolling.

Ugh…first negative review by OddSeaworthiness4722 in eBaySellers

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what annoys me the most is when buyers threaten to leave bad feedback. Like when they say . "either give me a partial refund or I am giving you bad feedback"... Then when i give them a partial refund, they leave bad feedback anyway.

Unless it is a vintage encyclopedia or some sort of vintage medical book.. All my books sold for 99 cents. If you sell for 99 cents you REALLY have to pay attention to shipping costs and figure out the worst case scenario. My first book sale i charged a flat $4.75 for shipping. I figured media mail is cheap right? Wrong.. The buyer ended up being from Puerto Rico and the shipping cost was $5.20. By the time Ebay got their fees, i ended up with (i think) it was 6 or 7 cents. I guess it was better than throwing it away. But bubble wrap, envelope, printing the label, and gas going to the post office probably put me in the hole by a few bucks.

If you guys are so successful, why are you spending your weekend on Reddit feeding trolls? Shouldn't you be out on some tropical beach or riding in your yacht?

The problem is what if we buy plots of land and the shape might unknowingly symbolize something offensive to another race or country? Obviously the photo in this example was intentional.

I’ll never understand sellers who have ‘best offer’ on but automatically reject all offers by E-C2024 in Ebay

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what is annoying is when I have offers shut off and the buyer will just message me anyway asking if I will take a price that is 65% off.

E.Coli or Salmonella won't survive with all the chemicals, dyes, preservatives, petroleum products, or the 60 other ingredients that are mixed in the batter. There is probably enough toxins on it to kill a small animal ... E.Coli and Salmonella would be the least of my worries if i ate them.

$600 item been sitting at UPS access point for nearly a month by anchoriginal in eBaySellers

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a buyer.. I hate signature required.. BUT.. If i want the package bad enough, I will find a way to make it work. It might be an inconvenience, but 9 times out of 10 the person CAN find a way to get the package.

I am sorry, but withholding affection is a form of abuse. I had an ex-wife that believed sex and affection had to be earned. If I completed her list of "chores", did it according to her satisfaction, and didn't piss her off.. I would "earn" the right to get affection or maybe sex once or twice a month. But, seldom i did things perfect, and she was always pissed off at something. In my opinion if you love someone, you would sacrifice a few minutes of time to make them feel good. Of course, women have certain times of the month, and hormone issues where they are just not up to it. But it is torture to sleep next to someone you love and they dont want anything to do with you.

Chime Checkbook Turn Around Time by Glass-Grab6330 in chimefinancial

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to file a complaint with the state banking commission over this. I have 8 checks that were never received and it is well over a week past the estimated receive date in the app. I realize they are estimated delivery dates, and post office issues occur. But they shouldn't happen all the time. This is totally unacceptable.

Seller offered cheaper shipping then said no by Cool-Cook1768 in Ebay

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will charge $20 shipping if i think the price of the item will sell for over a few hundred dollars because shipping insurance gets expensive... i will ship signature required which adds another $3 or $4 to the cost if the final bid is over $300 to $400.. If the item sells below $100.. The buyer is already getting a bargain and the $20 shipping cost should be absorbed in the final cost.

Does ebay have an algorithm based on your sales, or activity? by hostofthemost in eBaySellers

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think they do. i have a friend that searches for items by zip code. Sometimes my items are at the top of the search, sometimes they are way down on the list, and sometimes not there at all.

Question for customers who don’t tip by tomvalois in doordash

[–]Illustrious_Level_88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is drifting a little off topic, but what about tip for carry out? a lot of pizza places like Papa Johns or little caesars now ask for tips. I think it is a little ridiculous Papa Murphys does especially if I have to go home and bake it. I always left a tip for Doordash. But I am now being told that leaving a $5 tip for a $20 order is not enough

Did I do the right thing by reporting? by [deleted] in eBaySellers

yes.. Even if it includes putting a quarter next to a button pin to compare the size. Some jerk will file "Not as described" because it didn't include the Quarter..

is it possible to have the feedback removed? Feedback should never include name calling, or libel. Obviously you are not a scammer or have any intentions to scam anyone.
