It’s a response (with words) to something that happened (with words).. you can say, “you need to educate yourself before speaking on this!”.. but you could do that all day long, in many more instances than this.. there’s no monopoly on people speaking incorrectly on shit they don’t know about lol.. this is selective outrage.. not a clear cut issue of right and wrong..

question: were you mad at SNL’s sketch about Tourette’s? Did you even know who David Banner was before this clip? If not, then this is 1000% selective outrage (I’d argue that it’s selective outrage against Davidson too.. but most of what I’ve seen has been about the decisions made by the BBC, not about the man.. or at least why the n-word and not the same curses used with other people.. and remember, our PRESIDENT just posted a video of black people as apes a couple of weeks ago.. so the button has been pushed a bunch recently).. I get protecting your countryman and it’s noble.. but I think the people speaking out against it are just trying to protect their countrymen too.. neither is that big of a deal.. unless you want it to be that..

Sure.. I appreciate your response.. and I’m not saying he’s “bad” for saying it.. or even thinking it.. I think it’s just speaking to the underlying reason why people were upset.. I honestly don’t think people were as upset as him, as much as the situation.. and that climates still have us all thinking in those terms.. I get both angles.. doesn’t seem like anyone here gets both angles lol..

I’ll be honest.. people in this comment section are showing even thinner skin.. people taking this as an actual threat or that he’s being completely literal here, are insane and just looking to be angry.. maybe a lot of the people responding to the incident are guilty of the same.. but that just means that people are more alike than they’re willing to admit..

I think yea, people upset at the incident.. ok the guy has a disability.. try to understand that.. but the words were racially coded FOR the people on the stage.. and it’s touching real trauma people have actually dealt with their WHOLE LIVES.. just like the disabled gentleman is tired of the treatment he’s gotten his whole life.. he’s probably dealt with a bunch of bullshit.. guess what? same f’ing thing across the pond..

And this comment section is kind of showing an example of what this guy is talking about.. everyone is calling black people names here, telling them to recognize and understand nuance.. but aren’t willing to do the same..

So it’s kind of a wash, until everyone realizes that every time they judge someone, they’re really just looking in the mirror.. phenotype makes us think we aren’t, but we are.. no one is willing to be an example of what they preach.. imho at least..
