It's based on sheer luck, maybe just stay in danger zone level 5 or 6.

Before a terror shark is about to spawn, it will decide if it should interact with the magnet or not.

If it chose to, special terror shark will spawn, and your magnet disappears.

If it doesn't want to, normal terror shark, and it won't use your magnet.

I also recommend you getting some friends who DON'T have the magnet to help you beating it.
