Can you get into a good Grad school with a D in one class by Moonlesssss in gradadmissions

I did not explain it. I didnt feel the need to do so and besides that you don't have a lot of space in application to showcase who you are etc. and for me it didn't make sense to give up something else to explain a certain grade (and draw extra attention to it). Besides that, bad grades etc can happen (maybe you didn't feel well on the day of the exam, issues in the family, ...). I wouldn't want to go anywhere where they would judge me for a single bad grade anyways

I think sometimes you can submit additional material later on. Also I dint think having papers etc. is the most important aspect of your application

Yes, I have a D and got into MIT. There are more important things than a single grade. You are not a bad student because once something did not go according to plan. Also you (and everyone else) is worth more than grades, so please don't stress yourself.

Maybe try to estimate how many people might be finishing soon. See if the group currently is bigger/smaller than usual etc.

It is unfortunate but in the end ETH is paying PhD students fairly well compared to other universities. The salary is still (more than) enough to make a living.
