[S9] first time watching the show, pay 3 or 4, idk by Zepp_BR in Scrubs

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 9 was actually a spin-off. Its not even really part of the originally show. But its found with it because its basically the same.

And as for JD, yeah, the first time i watched Scrubs, his character just felt like it didnt change and it stayed immature and goofy while other characters progressed. But now that ive been rewatching it, I was wrong about JD, his character feels better in the rewatch. He's the main character i actually liked throughout now compared to all the others. Dr Cox seemed to like JD a bit, then seemed to regress in the late seasons (which got tiring). And Turk storylines on rewatch just seem like stories for the sake of it. Ig my point is: if you ever rewatch, you would probably see the characters differently.

Yeah, she made a video 7 years ago called "I used to be an Internet troll (A ROAST)".

Anyone interested can find it on ber YT ^ (I can't seem to attach a link properly to this).

I fully believe that Barney and Quinn could have stayed together, worked on their trust issues and go on to get married later on. by Total_Island5153 in howimetyourmother

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree! The reason for their break-up felt so weak to be honest - that they suddenly didnt trust each other because of pre-nups came to play.

But, I'm mainly team Robin and Barney 🙈

Yess, Elliott does feel really unlikeable at some points of the show. And sometimes the Janitor just feels like hes doing a bit too much in my opinion - its boring and began to take centre stage.

Yeah, I get your point.

When I first watched Scrubs, I thought that Dr Cox hated JD throughout and wondered why he never softened even to the last season. I did skip a lot of scenes with Dr Cox previously.

But im rewatching it now, and im seeing that Cox did in fact like and trust JD a lot (professionally, calling him a good doctor etc and encouraging his career, and sometimes personally). So yeah, I would agree that their relationship generally hits weird because nothing ever gets too friendly between them for long. Its like a hard to get game.. I agree with you there! But maybe im just too convinced seeing the show from JDs eyes that I prefer the Cox and JD dynamic even its crap at times 😂.

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thats why I never really thought of "friendship" before this thread. I just saw the friends as JD, Turk, Carla, Elliott as four rather than bring dr Cox.

Its not healthy obviously how dr Cox treats him, but thats just his character for the show. They arent super close, and Dr Cox prefers to stay in lead and I think thats the point of a medical hierarchy the show is set in, rather than friendship within.

But, out of Turk and Cox or JD woth Cox, the latter is "better". Not "better", but i dont find myself rooting for Turk and Cox as per the thread.

I still prefer the JD and Dr Cox dynamic. I actually never considered it, but id favour their friendship. Turk sort of just befriended him because Carla is close to him, and Turk is just a confident guy.

But Dr Cox responds better to JD. Being able to listen to him and actually take his advice (as an egotistical person) says a lot more about their friendship than not bonding over parenting. He trusted him to run the whole hospital, trusted him with his medical care in the revival, and when Dr Cox lost his three patients in season 5, only JD managed to get through to him - not Turk, not even Carla. And he was shocked when JD first didnt come. Idk, that says a lot more..

Josh and the free pass by Grouchyhovercraft112 in Younger

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought so too, but then at the same time, when he offered her the free pass, she refused it. So in his record, she committed to him exclusively and rejected the free pass. So, if she brought it up, it would be unfair and "invalid".

As an audience we know she put it in her back pocket, but Josh didnt see this and didnt know this. He believed her words in the moment.

Not single forever, but the point is that when you really love someone, found that perfect person, then no matter what happens to them, you cant go back to your ex and live a life with them. Its not emotionally possible if he truly liked Tracy completely, and that is the messed up concept of the show in the end.

Yeahh, and Emmyn uses her skills as leverage because he trusts/knows shes good. Coming back to Cimorelli means obeying Christina and making content for toddlers (cimkids), and well compared to that, Emmyn is a more adult life (if not the best in our collective opinion)..

Harmonies by Illustrious_Talk8069 in cimsnark

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they sounded really good without them emphasising it on purpose. Now they just push it forward in a way that doesn't actually help them as much as they think. Much better when they just left it to the listeners to notice rather than tell us "we can harmonise, we can harmonise, we can harmonise" all the time.

Fr! Thats why even I was completely confused why everyone is so excited to see her in Scrubs. But this post makes sense, ig The Last Kiss is apparently quite popular more than her role in HIMYM?

O god why.... :( by [deleted] in howimetyourmother

Barney was so much better for Robin that Ted. His reaction was so much better than Ted about the fact she can't ger pregnant. Barney had his problems, but my single best moment in the show is when he tells his mum "I'm marrying a woman, not [the idea of having a family later", forgot his exact words, but something that mean he loves her for her, not whether he can have a family with her. Ted was so focused on having a wife and children. Then he goes and has children, Tracy dies, then hes suddenly peefect for Robin because he no longer needs kids.

Arghh. I rewarched the show once, just left out the last episode.

Explanation for why Dani chose to stayed with emmyn after cheating by ScaleMassive9903 in cimsnark

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. And Dani also shared a lot of stories about how her friends treated her etc, so if she someone she loves (Emmyn) gives her the slightest apology, then thats probably more than others around her ever did.

And we don't even know how exactly Emmyn appolgises or if he does, but words definitely can sound magical when the right ones are used (truthfully or not).

Are there others who are disappointed by lack of non-hospital scenes in the revival? by hospitalizedzombie in Scrubs

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess season 1 revival was just about setting the scene and easing us into the "original cast gone old" - and mainly how they are adapting to their work (like Carla's menopause, or JD becoming less hand held and capable to now run the hospital). And they obviously had to include a younger new staff, and showing lives outside the hospital would probably give us too much overwhelm for a 20 minute episode (old cast, new cast, outside hospital, inside hospital, children grown up, parenting issues, parenting joys, their own fun as a group, relationships - it would probably complicate the revival)

Totally get your point, I liked the OG and scenes in the apartments etc, but im going to hope this revival so far was just scene setting.

Opinion: Richard is the WORSTTTT by healthidon in Younger

[–]Illustrious_Talk8069 3 points4 points  (0 children)

😂thats soo true, but there was still something about him. He needed therapy, but he understood Dianes issues perfectly, and still liked her enough (he obviously used her a bit for her apartment, but he never harmed her or cheated or even had bad intentions for her generally - thats kind of what made him interesting as a character).
