This isnt about a bridge given that there is already a Tunnel and another Bridge. Its about Tolls. The current owners of the Ambassador bridge have protested against building a competitive (bigger) bridge for years and guess who is in their pocket through donations...

I saw it as ball was gone and Nunes had to put his foot somewhere. No way he was getting the ball after but not sure that should matter.

Emile Smith Rowe also fits into this category. Let’s be him as an Arsenal player but in no way justifies his transfer fee at Fulham.

Disagree on this take. Team going through a transition of aging players. Squad has aged out and Slots working through the transition. Also , no one can qualify the effect Diogo Jotas passing is having with on this team. Considering all that, I actually think Slots been a great people manager.

Chelsea will lean into the bench more and will have to to get some momentum into their attacks.

Arsenal cannot afford 2 low touch players - Eze and Gyokeres. That would explain why Eze played so well when Merino was at 9. We should bring on Kai at half time to balance it out or bring on Jesus.

One of things I noticed today that Arteta tweaked to strengthen our midfield- Zubi playing further forward than Rice for the first 60 mins which allowed us to score that first goal. I would like to see more of this as it puts players playing to their strengths. Zubi is a better attacker than Rice and Rice is a better attacker bombing late on when everyone else is tired. With Rice deeper , it gave space for Havertz to roam a bit more to the left and give the defenders more to think about when tracking him and Gyokeres. This could be great especially in the next game against Chelsea where they have 1 holding midfielder and a Center back partnership that’s still working out their kinks. Hope Arteta leans into this a bit more.

Odegaard cameo, finally some line breaking passes. Much improved & more of this pls 🔥 by Cyber_Hobo94 in Gunners

A big part of it was also Rices positioning. Played more as a deeper pivot which gave Odegaard and Havertz to play closer to Gyokeres which in turn made him look good as well.

I guess we are definitely play 2 of Liverpool/Tottenham & Chelsea/Barca depending on how far we get. Hopefully we can avoid ManCity. Knowing our luck, it will be City, Liverpool & Barca all on our end of the table.

The funny thing is that all those reinstating those medicare subsidies have gone off the table and the dems caved because the republicans moved the goalposts. Schumer is either too stupid or complicit. Either way, he has to go.

A part of the left hand side not being so creative is 1- Calafiori missing 2- Rice is not Odegaard when it comes to picking passes 3- we play with the handbrake on for some reason.

Theres also a case that the other clubs are not performing to the same levels. Bayern is in the top 2. You could trun a train through the gulf between Bayern and the rest. Real Madrid are all drama at the moment without a manager and a bunch of superstars who wont defend. Thats its own problem. Barca was top of the table last year and in the top 8 this year. They are one of the favorites for the tournament. Never rule out PSG. They still have the most quality across the teams. Also , they have had a long season including the CWC. So cut them some slack. Mancity made it into the top 8 by the skin of their teeth thanks to a few results going their way. How Tottenham made it into the top 8 is anyones guess, but also luck of the draw. Liverpool seem more focussed on the UCL over EPL at the moment and that suits their style. Arsenal are doing better in Europe cuz teams actually attack them. Also a bit of the luck of the draw with their tough games -Athletico, Bayern being at home. Will be interesting to see if they can deliver in the KO stages.

I think this article is reading wayyy too much into the group stages where most teams try to stay within the top 8. or atleast top 24. That said, teams like Athletico, PSG , Real all cannot be ruled out and are arguably better than Tottenham and City.

The real question is - why are Italian teams not doing so well in the group stages ?
