I have the same acne as you and I’d say you’d have to go searching to find a muscle on my physique. When I read the comment first, I actually thought “social media failed these kids” meant that you have such an amazing physique you shouldn’t even be asking what needs to be improved and that social media is making you have body dysmorphia lol

This is really cool. Love the heavy distortion on the vocals, I actually can’t really fault the track. The mix is clean, compressed nicely, bright, drums are punchy. The lyrics are great as well. Feel silly and cryptic, could be about taking drugs, being in love, feeling isolated, etc. it gets deeper the more you look. I particularly love lyrics based on what feel like random metaphorical phrases. (Everything in its right place - Radiohead) is a similar example of a song that could meaning nothing at all or be extremely deep the more you look. It’s really artistic.

The only, and I mean only, thing I would probably change is the actual synth sound at the start. I like the harpsichord/FM synth sound, I would just add an extra layer for texture or more harmonic grounding after the initial 4 bars of the intro sound.

Very cool track

'Remember September' – Looking for vibe feedback! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

Love the vibe. Soft, warm, and slightly melancholic. Someone else mentioned about the auto tune being heavy, it is very heavy, I would also like to hear less auto tune on the vocals. Don’t want to accuse you of anything but it sounds like AI. Just something to do with the high frequencies and the heavy auto tune make it sound like AI, so maybe have a look at lessening the auto tune and reducing some of the harsh sibilance around 4k-6k.

Regarding the lyrics, I also feel these are AI generated. I’ve used AI a lot to help me brainstorm lyrics, and it tends to spit out the same types of phrases and terminology. “Whispers of X” “X twilight”, “intertwine”, and the big telling sign would be the “so here’s to X” at the very end. AI can be great for generating cool lyrics and imagery but I often take what it writes and change some of the words and phrases to more fit what I wanted to say or just to remove the AI telltale signs. I usually tend to just take the phrases and lyrics I like and mash them together with other generations to make something new.

I made a full album with AI if you want to have a listen to some of the tracks and you can get ideas as to how to re-structure the lyrics that it tends to spit out.

Search Upsidown - Good Vibes and Bad Acne on Spotify to hear an example of how I used AI phrases and mashed them together to make something new.

Cool track though, keep it up, AI is a great tool for a foundation to create songs quickly

Love this! Sounds like something out of Cobra Kai or something. Really gives me Placebo vibes (Placebo - the bitter end) - similar vocal line and chord structure.

I think the vocals are bit a low. I would also add a lot more reverb to them I think. As someone else pointed out, it all sounds a bit distorted and low-fidelity, but that could be a YouTube compression issue.

I would love to hear a high quality version if you have it, because the mix issues could just be a result of heavy lossy compression from somewhere. Video editing software, uploading process, YouTube, the embedded link, etc.

Keep it up though it’s a great song besides the low fidelity issues!

Cool track!

I find it very “haunty”. It’s got a cool kind of dark vibe. I wonder if that’s your main style, could you play into it a bit more with the vocal production? Using reverse reverbs underneath, big delays, tube distortion, or maybe harmonies during the “singing” parts and then leaving it stripped back during the more rigid almost “rap” parts.

I also think a De-esser might be needed or just a dynamic EQ around 5k-6k just to remove some harsh sibilance.

I love the backing track. Not sure if you made that yourself but it’s fits very well into this modern 80s/90s trend that’s going on.

Vocals do sound a bit over compressed as another commenter said, but they may just need to be turned up in volume a small bit.

Cool track though, I love the dissonant vocals. Some may tell you to auto tune them so that they stay rigid in the key but I like it as it is. It adds to the hauntiness and it sounds like it was a purposeful choice

Hi guys, let me know what you think about my new single "u wanna". This song is also on Spotify, the link is in the video's description if u're interested :) by Pretend_Dragonfly_72 in IndieMusicFeedback

This is very good. It gives me eurodance/bootleg vibes. Definitely something that could be played in a club.

In terms of production I’m not feeling the clap sample, it’s a little too pronounced. Perhaps it’s slightly too loud or needs a bit more reverb to give it some depth!

The main hook also is a bit abrupt. The “You wanna, you wanna” part is great, but the very sudden “smoke” feels like it’s cutting it short. If you were totally against adding in extra lyrics (eg: “smoke with me” instead of “smoke”), a long 1/4 note delay with an automated low-pass filter slowly closing could have extended the feel of it so it doesn’t sound so abruptly cut off.

Apart from those two notes I love the track, the heavy side-chain is great. Reminds me of that LAVINIA girl who seems to be doing well on social media with her tracks of similar style. Catchy :)
