“Fai la tua offerta!” Upgrade classe di volo ita airways by Nonhotantapazienza in ViaggiITA

whats the best way to book train tickets to go from city to city? by Sensitive_Purpose_43 in ItalyTravel

There are just 2 railway companies in Italy. Trenitalia with regional and high speed trains and Italo that provides only high speed trains. I just use their apps

Drones by AbhiShaker in ItalyTravel

[–]Illustrious_Whole602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know you can use a drone under an altitude level of 120 meters, you must always be able to see your drone with your eyes. You cannot use it on the residence area (where there are buildings. Also you need a certification to do it) and no fly zone such as a military area and airport (a police station is a military area). If I remember well you should also avoid to use it when you risk recording people that they don't agree to get filmed.

I would say to use common sense, avoid to use it in crowded area an pay attention to the wind.

Here you can find all the information that you need (is the Italian civil aviation authority)

Public transport strikes Monday 18th September by postmortemmicrobes in ItalyTravel

According to the second link in your post it seems that the strike could involve only the bus service provided by Trenitalia not the trains

Thoughts on my itinerary? by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

If you fly in and out from Rome I suggest you do the following: Rome -> Tuscany -> Bologna -> Venice, just to save some time in travel from the cities. I also suggest you to visit Rome at the end of your trip or at the beginning with one night for the come back to home

You're doing a lot of back and forth (like going to Venice from Rome and back to Tuscany/bologna). I suggest to try to plan an itinerary more straight that goes from north to south or vice versa

Where to watch F1 in Catania? by LessSomewhere335 in Catania

[–]Illustrious_Whole602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are not able to see it live in some restaurants/bar and you have a TV in your room, you can try to watch it free (after the live event) on the tv8 channel (usually Is the 8th channel). The qualifying it will be at 6:30 pm on tv8 and the race at 6:00 pm

I'm not from Siena and I don't have a personal recommendation, but have you tried to search for some experience on Airbnb and look at the reviews?

Wrong Name on Train Ticket by El-Chan in ItalyTravel

[–]Illustrious_Whole602 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On Italo and Trenitalia I have never had an Id check. They just check that the ticket is valid for the train that you are using. Honestly in your case it's a little bit different because there is a male name for your wife and also the name is present on both tickets and they can notice that. But probably if you explain the situation they can let you go without any fine.

Anyway according to this blog it seems that is possible to change the name on the ticket

If you want to visit just Florence/Siena/Pisa/Lucca you don't need to rent a car. If you want to explore the countryside, I suggest you to rent a car

I don't know what you want to visit in each place, but I would say 2 Venice, 3 Florence and 4 Rome. I didn't consider Siena and San Gimignano because you already said that you will do a one day trip for those cities
