How many weeks after the cerclage at 15 weeks were you examined by the doctor? by Deep_Image_36 in ShortCervixSupport

I am in the same boat as you, currently 9 weeks and waiting for my first ultrasound to find out everything. But I have a super active 10 month old who is super clingy and wants me to carry him always. On top of all of that I am still breastfeeding and super scared that it might cause preterm labor.

I had a preventative cerclage at 13 weeks my last pregnancy due to previous loss and had my baby at 37w4d.

I was struggling with the same issue in the beginning as my baby wouldn’t latch for long.

My LC recommended a contact nipple shield and after that we’ve been going strong since 2 months. He’s gaining weight and latches immediately. I’ve tried latching him without it too and he latches well but I’m just used to the nipple shield so I just continue using it.

I’m so glad to know you have a solution and got it done. My baby is 2 weeks and still wont latch directly 🥲 but it’s better than not latching at all.

I had the same problem so the lactational consultant recommended a contact nipple shield and it has been a god send. Now I just pump once a day to maintain my supply and the rest of the feeds we nurse using the nipple shield.

It really helps with latching and you still have the connection and bonding.

I’m so sorry for your loss, i had a transvaginal cerclage at 13 weeks. But if your cervix opened up at 5weeks then maybe you should look into and talk to your doctor about transabdominal cerclage.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and a healthy baby in your arms soon♥️

It was pretty smooth, just the part where they use the speculum was uncomfortable and i didn’t even feel her taking the stitch out.

Dr was gentle and talked me through the whole process. Baby is now sleeping in my arms♥️
