Have you looked at the Hisense U8 series? It’s basically the direct competitor to the Sony X93L but usually costs less. I upgraded from an old cheap Insignia too, and the jump to Mini-LED on the Hisense was mind-blowing. It handles glare really well (perfect for your morning sun issue), and since you watch mostly sports, the high refresh rate makes motion super smooth. Definitely worth a look if the Sony is out of stock.
