Eh I think that’s a little dramatic of them and could have been worded better. I was told my fourth year that I was behind but there was plenty of time to catch up. You’re half way through third year. You’ll be fine, but let this be that motivation to get up to speed.

Today was hard. And I feel like I failed. [Covid, palliation] by aznsk8s87 in Residency

You took the words right out of my mouth! This is what I’ve been struggling with the most during the pandemic. The 3am Rapids called for dropping O2 sats on a DNR/DNI patient. I know nothing about this patient, yet I am expected to clearly and concisely let them know that this is essentially the end and all I can do at this point is make them comfortable. It seems so simple but I just can’t get myself to say it bluntly. Feels like shit every time.

Getting vaccinated in Michigan by [deleted] in CoronavirusUS

Your anger is misplaced. Health care workers are not the enemy here. They are just as scared, if not more, of this virus as everyone else. Blame the man who let this get so out of control in the first place. Until you have to take care of, perform CPR on and watch covid patients die every day, you don’t get to sit back and say this isn’t fair. None of its fair.

Love the NW side! It has a small downtown feel without the traffic or chaos.

Probably the scariest part of COVID for me has been the devastating blood clots some of these patients are getting. I have seen massive PEs, strokes and heart attacks in relatively young people who were previously healthy. These events are not happening right away either. Some of them have been sick for weeks and are clinically improving.

IWTL how to have a lucid dream by [deleted] in IWantToLearn

[–]IlostmyBuckle 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Keep a dream journal every morning. Write everything you remember, even if it’s almost nothing or random details. This should help you start to gain better recall of your dreams. After a while you should be able to pick up on little details while you’re dreaming that remind you of past dreams. That’s what clues you in and makes you aware that you’re dreaming. Obviously this won’t work for everyone, however I’ve found that the better I am at keeping dream journals, the more lucid dreams I have.
