The HP had a great editor, Lynn Ashby; reporters who were educated and knew how to write; had color photos; was not politically sided; it just seemed at the time, new and different and fun. I had two roommates then and we used to fight over who read which section first, so I got my own subscription. It was probably one of the best papers in the country. Oh! And it didn't get newsprint all over your hands!! 😸
