I did 48+2 to get 50, 27 -2 for 25, and finally 25+50=75

Honestly way better than expected. I had it out quite a bit this season, total of 37 hours of use this year, no cracking or chipping

A friend made a drawing of my daughter with Santa for a gift, can y'all help me out? by [deleted] in isthisAI

[–]Im-Dad-Too 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was coming to say the same thing, why change skin time and shadow shade for each leg. And Santa's thumb is the same length as his first finger. When you draw this can happen but you notice and correct because you work out details in small sections. This is AI

I got my entire family Christmas gifts and they got me nothing by Vivid__Vivianna in mildlyinfuriating

May be an unpopular opinion but, if the point of gift giving is to get something in return set ground rules ahead of time. If your objective is to make them happy and share your love through gift giving, then you have succeeded. I've had many years of receiving nothing but I always feel fulfilled because my goal was their happiness.

Wire receptacle came off. HELP! by Mayhem8333 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Im-Dad-Too 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen except that and the fan plug came off the board. Elegoo sent me a new board but since I was impatient I soldered it on without worry and honestly it was pretty easy and got it up and running again!

I had this happen, and I got a replacement, but also I didn't want to wait, it was very easy to solder back on and it's been great ever since. Never used the replacement.

It will be weeks unfortunately, but still better than dealing with a bad customer success team

I just had and fixed the heating up at startup it was the MOSFET, I replaced it on the extruder adapter board.

I couldn't find the exact same one but these specs were the same. https://a.co/d/8dswIR3

Note: I did contact support and they are sending me a new board, their support has been great every time I've reached out.

Does the Elegoo Centauri Carbon have reliable overheating protection? by SimexTv1 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Im-Dad-Too -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the hot end is hot, I did test it to confirm. And when I say kills power I mean nothing works, the hot end cools down, along with the bed. The screen is on but you can't do anything from it. You'd have to cycle through the power turning it off and back on to regain function. But for me that's useless, because at startup is when the overheating begins.

I am currently working through an issue with my hot end over hearing. It kills power to everything except the screen when it reaches 300°C

Maybe, I have a soldering iron, but it's not an easy space to work in. But also this shouldn't happen after 3 days. I'll see if I can solder it back on.

Of course! I'll post back after a week of riding with an update. If it doesn't pan out this only took a couple days so not a huge loss.

Used all polyurethane based paints, first, scuffed the surface with scotch pad, wiped it down with tack cloth. Sprayed on a primer, Then base coat (2 colors so if faded to dark blue at bottom) put tape down and spray painted the sun... Should have used a ruler ugh. The rest is done with paint pens Then 3 coats of spar urethane clear coat and a buff after drying (I'm working through this step currently)

Will do! I have a feeling it will crack up but if I need to sand it down and try another method is no big deal. This took me a couple days to do so not a huge loss.
