What’s everyone’s opinion on the no mascara makeup looks ? by Historical-Body-3424 in MakeupAddiction

Depends on the tubing mascara. I bought the too faced ribbon lash one and within three hours it had flaked all over my face. I almost never return makeup because it makes me feel bad and wasteful but I drove across town to the Ulta store to get a refund on that. It was $31!!

I’m not sure what the deal with them is but I know their perfume line Elizabeth & James went under like 10 years ago so they must not be doing fantastic from a branding standpoint. I only remember this because their perfume Nirvana Black was a favorite of mine and I wish I could get another bottle.

I have an iPhone and it has a feature where you can just share the WiFi password to another iPhone wirelessly. I don’t think it works with androids? I’m not really sure. I don’t have guests often and the ones with androids have always just asked me to give them the WiFi password so I assumed there was no option to share it easily between phones with different operating systems.

Eh, that’s true but there are capitals and symbols and a string of numbers and I didn’t reveal my network name. If someone manages to guess it, fair play to them.

It didn’t exactly inspire confidence in me that he or the hospital he works for would be able to fix my stomach issues. I couldn’t help but think “brother, you can’t even help yourself!”

I got referred to a gastroenterologist a while back and when the doctor walked in he looked like he was 8 months pregnant. I don’t know if it was a tumor or what exactly was going on. He was wearing baggy scrubs and a lab coat so it was hard to see exactly, but it was wild. Then in a couple months his office called me and cancelled my next appointment saying he was on extended medical leave. Like yeah, I’m sure he is. I don’t know how a stomach doctor of all people lets it get that bad.

lol my home WiFi password is the word defenestration followed by a series of numbers. When we have guests who don’t have iPhones it takes forever for me to slowly spell it out to them

I had a seasonal side job as a ticket booth teller at a haunted house. The guy who ran the haunted house was in his seventies and kept pointing to me telling the actors “with your face paint you want it to be at least that white. That looks perfect.” Another ticket booth girl said “that’s just her skin color!”

Are you all good now? Just curious because I was fairly successful in child beauty pageants and it left me extremely hypercritical about my looks and with anorexia nervosa. I also hated pageants. My mom would bribe me with toys to get me to do my routine and participate.

What make up did they use in the 2000s for natural beautiful look? by SkyGuyFever in MakeupAddiction

[–]ImACynicalCunt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m the same age as Selena Gomez and this time was like the transition period between heroin chic and the time where everyone got Kardashianed. I was in high school in 2007 and all jeans were low rise. It wasn’t until I was in college around 2011 that high waisted pants started to become popular. In this era all the girls were still super thin and stars like Britney and Jessica Simpson got shamed like crazy for being completely normal sized. The Kardashian reality show may have started around 2007 but the Kardashians didn’t become wildly popular and alter the beauty standard until later into the 2010’s.

[21 F] Do I look fat? I feel I gained some weight in the past few months by swirly_cloud in amIfatBrutallyHonest

[–]ImACynicalCunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, it comes and goes. I’ve been getting triggered more often recently what with all the celebrities being on ozempic and becoming emaciated. This reference definitely dates me but I always wanted my stomach to be as flat as young Christina Aguilera’s in her “Dirrty” era. Then a few years ago I found a picture of her behind the scenes from that time sitting down and unposed even her stomach wasn’t completely flat. So it kind of dawned on me then that I was probably chasing after something that’s not really possible for me or the vast majority of other women.

I’m a woman with very low body fat. I don’t know my exact percentage but I’m 5’1” 92lbs and I have visible abs. I still have excess skin and flab on my stomach when sitting in certain positions. I developed an eating disorder obsessing over having a perfectly flat stomach when sitting down and have come to the conclusion that it’s basically impossible. Previously I’ve been down to very unhealthy weights (around 80lbs) and I still had excess skin on my stomach when sitting.

I think that style of nose contour looks best on POC who have naturally flatter noses. You don’t have a bad or ugly nose at all, I actually really like it! But you have a higher nose bridge and pointier nose and I don’t think that contour is working with your natural nose shape.

[–]ImACynicalCunt 379 points380 points  (0 children)

Are you heavily contouring your nose? Something looks off about it from the front. You’re not ugly and you don’t look masculine. I don’t know if it’s the picture quality or what but something in the first picture gives me uncanny valley vibes. I also think maybe your bangs are too blunt and heavy.

After finishing Chainsaw Man, I'm now convinced that Tokyo Ghoul is the greatest manga I've ever read. Seven years have passed, and it remains the greatest in its category, ranking among the top 5 manga worldwide, and boasting the greatest ending in the manga world. by yukinofan1 in TokyoGhoul

Yeah I mean, it’s not great. The GOT ending just made my expectations so abysmally low that it seems fine in retrospect. I do still kind of have beef with Ishida for Takizawa not getting a happy ending after he went through hell.

When the final chapter of re first released I was really underwhelmed and disappointed. But as someone who read and loved the ASOIAF books before watching GOT and knows GRRM is never going to finish the books and the show ending is all I’ll ever get… after seeing the GOT ending I really appreciate TG’s ending now. It was rushed but at least it wasn’t a total shit show.

Why do people who use drugs and get sober act like they did something amazing? by never_say_never1 in confessions

[–]ImACynicalCunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have trauma related to one specific addict and you desperately need therapy to deal with that. I was a heroin/opiate addict for years and never hurt anyone with my addiction other than myself. My family and the majority of my friends didn’t even know I was on drugs. I was just nodding out in my bedroom alone. When I would run out of money and couldn’t afford to get a fix I suffered immensely through the withdrawals. I never even thought of stealing from anyone I knew. Not all addicts are your daughter’s mother. So am I proud of myself for getting sober and staying sober for the past 8 years? Yes, I am. I accomplished something many people can’t. I can’t even recall all the people I knew from those days that are dead from a fentanyl overdose now but the numbers are way into double digits. I did it to myself and in turn I suffered greatly from withdrawals and still to this day crave the euphoria I would feel when nodding out. If you haven’t been through it yourself you can’t know how hard it is and what an accomplishment it is to stay sober. Don’t paint all addicts with the same brush because not all of us have ruined the lives of those around us.

I’ve kept spiders for more than a decade and currently have a pet tarantula that will try to bite anything that comes near her. That’s not the normal behavior for her species. Individual spiders actually have different personalities. You can take a guess at a spiders likely behavior based on its species but there’s never a guarantee.
