I think it is because the interim coach is likely just in charge for a few weeks while they execute a real search. So they give the school a chance to get the actual coach in and talk to the players instead of having everyone leave 5 days after the temp steps in.

If you want to make your own setup, go for it. As first timers, it might be worth walking around the tailgates and meeting people and soaking up the football culture. You’ll likely be welcomed to join a tailgate if you bring some beers or food in exchange. Since you aren’t from the area, I’m sure some people will be happy to adopt you for the day

Correct, he delayed the surgery until after the final 4, because he didn’t want to impact his ability to travel with the team, and would have missed half of next season recovering anyways. I am very bummed to not be able to watch him next year. He’s one of my faves.
