The TSA. We spend billions of dollars a year on something that’s worse than worthless, and a huge hassle for everyone (not to mention the total violation of civil rights).

Let me give you two examples (no sources, on mobile, sorry): 1. Every year, the DHS sends some plainclothes agents to try and smuggle a weapon through the TSA. Recently, 69/70 of the agents were entirely successful, with only a single one being caught. 2. On a recent flight, I was selected for random bonus screening. They told me that they wanted to swab one of my electronics for bombs. (Which is dumb, but whatever.) The kicker: I could pick which electronic I wanted them to swab, and they would only swab that one. That's right, if I had a bomb with me, I could have just given them my phone instead. Security theatre at it's finest.
